25 is not wide enough. Would like a similar lens but with a range of around 17-70.

HELL YES, agree, and you can crop 6K to 4K if needed to zoom a bit more, way more interesting wider

We took delievery of ours just last week (from ProAV). Absolutely love it and think it punches well above its weight. There's a really beautiful character to the lens.

Used it all day yesterday. Man it's a beast to lug around all day run and gun. Also, just not wide enough as do-it-all lens IMO. Checks a bunch of boxes but can't see buying one with those 2 checks against it.

Great, been waiting for a quick review of this beast, how bout if you do one for the Picto Zoom DZO Cine zooms, that would be awsome.

One quick look at the image quality of this lens compared to the picto zooms and it's evident that it's much better glass! Unless you are into a 70s vintage looking glass which you won't be able to use on many projects. Looking forward for a moment to sit down and watch this whole video. Hope Chromatic Aberration is also covered.

Interesting lens! Been looking into the DZOfilm ones but unfortunately those can’t be paired with the metabone x71 to mount on a bmpc 4K. Have you guys tried with that specific lens? This would make a great lens that can go into 4/3, super35 and eventually full frame!

@@victorblondel1902 kzitem.info/news/bejne/km-l2oKlcmOkfZw&feature=share Check that video. I guess the elements are too long and it would damage either the lens or the speed booster.

Have you guys by any chance tested the anamorphic rear-adapter with other lenses? For example with the DZO Pictor zoom?

Awesome video, and a beast of a lens. One question though, what light was used for the lens flare test?
@ProAVTV
3 жыл бұрын
It is indeed. The light we were using is a prototype of a new version of the LS J500V2: www.proav.co.uk/ls-j-500v2-daylight-led-spot-light Dan

How does this lens compare to the canon 30-105mm and the zeiss 21-100mm in terms of the image?
@blackoctopusproductions
2 жыл бұрын
If you want the sharpness and precision of the Canon or Zeiss then the Ooom won't do the trick at all. If you're into a "perfectly imperfect" look with a whiff of vintage but with modern performance you could well love it. We love ours!

dzofilm pictor vs laowa ooom What do you recommend?
@ProAVTV
3 жыл бұрын
Both are good choices! It depends on which features are important to you. Personally, I’d say the Laowa has ‘better’ image quality with less imperfections (although it’s still not as good as more expensive lenses there) while the Pictors have more character to them. The Laowa is convenient as you don’t have to change lens, but I enjoy using the pictors more as they are smaller and lighter. Carl

what is the definition of affordable according to you? You think 4.2k pounds is affordable?
@ProAVTV
3 жыл бұрын
By no means are we saying that the lens is 'cheap'. We draw the comparison from what you'd usually have to pay for a cine zoom such as this, which you're looking at something that ranges from twice, to four times the cost of this lens. The Canon CN7 is a great example of how costly lenses like this can get: www.proav.co.uk/canon-cn7x17-kas-s-cine-zoom-lens So in comparison to whats currently available, this is an affordable option and one of the least costly cine zooms around.
