Looking forward to seeing this long term test and good that you'll be charging out on the go. I like the look but not the colour you chose which is terrible to see for other drivers on Victorias backroads and lanes.

Chinese are going to make these limited and expensive vehicles obsolete. Hyundai/ Kia need to up their battery performance and down their pricing or they’re dead in the water.

@@JoshuaMcTackett not really they’re selling well, so not done and dusted. The new EV3, 5 etc will sell very well and they should certainly bring the EV2 to Australia, which they have decided against. The Kona is going to die out as looking dated and not up there for performance.

@@JoshuaMcTackettBYD dug their own grave when they denied warranty claim from a Canberra couple that experienced a dead battery while travelling at 100km/h. They did not move their behind for 3 weeks until the media intervened. The couple had to wait another 8 months to get their car back, which they did not want nor could sell. Own a base model extended range in the grey which I picked up for $57k driveaway back in April. There's definitely been an unofficial price cut for these as an FYI.

Thanks Oleg. I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience with the Kona electric - especially in terms of the livability of using public charging rather than home charging. I do have a quibble with one thing you said (4:39) about the "natural" shift towards electric cars. There's very little that's natural about it... it's being forced on us!

Hi, i dont mind this Kona, but can we expect a review of the Hyundai' i30 hatch mild hybrid any time soon?

Affordable????? At 60% more than the price of the same vehicle in petrol form. In no universe does this vehicle make any sense whatsoever. Your virtue signalling would have to be in the insane / unhinged zone to even considering it. $35k for the petrol, $40 k for the hybrid, $57 k for the electric.. madness.

Yep, that’s the problem with car reviewers, they don’t have to pay for them or live with them long term. They do so many reviews that actual ownership facts and often purchase price become irrelevant to them.
