Is that the Chappers back in the studio!?? Hell yeah this is legit. Also this man is just a guitar god no question. He can literally shred blind folded and has some preternatural telepathic ability to identify guitar brands. To me that says he knows the industry inside and out and it makes me want to try one of his companies guitars even more. Top marks all around gentleman, incredibly entertaining video as always, shouts out to the whole Andertons crew in front of and behind the camera, yall make being a guitar player that much more fun.

Man, I so miss these Captain and Chappers videos. Next time you blindfold Rob, and ask him to guess the guitars, keep in mind, he spends a lot of time in a music store on Malta. Most of the guitars you handed him are the same brands and models he plays with on Malta. I know this is meant to sell what you have in the store, but, throw him something he doesn't spend time with, once in a while. Anyway, thanks, Mates! You folks make the best music store vids!

Good job as always Chappers! 🤘 And those Liquid Death things are funny. I first discovered them at a concert this summer. I asked for a water, then the person turned around and grabbed the can. I almost said ‘wait no, I said water please,’ then I saw the actual label! I guess they decided to disguise it in a beer can so you still look cool even if you’re just drinking lame old h2O 😆

When I started playing back in 1981, there were no good cheap guitars. We had Hondo, and that was basically it. Eventually Squier started in around 83 and they were from Japan and still about $400-$500 bucks. Now you can get great stuff for around $200. It's insane. BTW. It doesn't surprise me Rob liked the Jackson best. I have 2 Dinky guitars that are about $400 and they are amazing for the $$$.

I have that JS-11 and like Rob, i had a killer Charvel when I was a kid and not able to appreciate what i had. That Charvel is long gone, but the Jackson JS-11 is VERY damn close, and there is some definite magic to its sound. I bought it to have a cheap guitar that i could play and not care about being careful with. Instead, I got a guitar that i would fight a bear over, price be damned.

I’ve had a couple of Yamahas, don’t know that I’d be able to pick them out of a herd of six guitars, blindfolded, unless they were my own. I do have a couple of late-90s (pre-Fender) Jacksons. Once you’ve felt one of those drag-strip necks, you’ll never mistake it for anything else. They’ve a very distinctive feel.
@Yupppi
Жыл бұрын
You time-machined Grampers to the show :O It's cool that when I started playing ~20 years ago, these were really the starter brands back then too. I had a squier, bandmate had a yamaha pacifica, friend had ibanez and cousin had epiphone. Well people probably had B.C. Rich and something else instead of Jackson back then when Jackson had quite high starting price range. If we had those lowest price Jacksons back in the day, I would've been in heaven. They feel so good for their price, there's just that slight weird assembly/setup on the neck that makes you notice it's very cheap and the only negative on them I could come up when I tried them. It's such a paradoxical series of guitars, that JS, when at the same time it feels rather luxurious and cheap. Like the neck felt so good but was wrong anyway. They look so good too, not far from a friend's Jackson Stars soloist when you just glance it. Without that odd setup/assembly thing I would've bought one to sit next to my PRS and japanese jackson. Make it a project guitar, swap the pickups, maybe bastardise the paint. What's interesting is how after 20 years, the humbuckers on those S-type guitars still sound very single coily and and trebly in very unpleasant way. Or maybe it's the amp and not the pickups. He's also correct about the volutes. Squiers have their own kinda soft rounded cliff there (mine has much softer than the modern you have), Jackson kinda flattens very minimally and seamlessly to the headstock, LTD have enormous lump that I hated. PRS is difficult to describe for me, a bit similar fluid transition but not quite like Jackson, perhaps because of the thicker necks. Those modern Ibanez neck joints would be a real giveaway.

The Eastcoast L1 guitars are legit very decent guitars regardless of the cost. You hear people say that kind of thing in videos all the time but I took a punt on one I was actually seriously impressed. Even the pickups they come with sound nice. They desperately need a restring and fingerboard hydration when they arrive but once you've done that, you've got a banging LP style guitar that you could happily gig and record with.
