Playing with the two Meike tubes that transmit the electronics. If you have enough light, auto focus will work if you have your shutter speed high, around 1/500th or more. Obviously tripod helps that out. But otherwise, I felt I had to go to manual focus. Macro is challenging, and some lens just fail with tubes. My Fuji 90mm 2.0 works fine, but I simply gave up on my 16mm 1.4. In both auto and manual, and that was just with the thin tube.

Can I use this extension tube with lumix G90 and 100-300 mm to increase its range?
@PhotoGearFun

Actually extension tubes do the opposite of what you asked. They will limit your range to only items very close to the lens. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Hello yes with these tubes you can get to 1:1 or maybe even higher magnifications with a 1:2 lens. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Hi,do you recommended this extension tube for Sony 18-55mm kit lens?
@PhotoGearFun
3 жыл бұрын
Hello. Yes you can see the results here with the Fuji kit lens which is 18-55 as well. Keep in mind that you will have to get pretty close to your subject depending on the focal length. Also remember to get extension tubes specific to Sony if you do get them. I believe Meike makes similar tubes for Sony. Hope this helps. Cheers.

is it good for viltrox 33mm?
@PhotoGearFun

It should work fine with the Viltrox 33mm. With two tubes it will be great with 3 you have to just get really close to the subject. Cheers.

Great video! but i do have a question: I have 2 lenses. A 14-44mm kit lens and a 45-200mm lens. So wich lens do you advise to use with this macro extension tube?
@PhotoGearFun
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! Either of them would do well but you might find the 45-200 at little easier to work with it will give you more distance from your subject. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Hi do you recommend this extension tube for 18-55mm kit lens ?
@PhotoGearFun
4 жыл бұрын
I found them to work pretty well with the 18-55 but you will have to be careful which and how many tubes you use at 18mm. You will need to be pretty close to your subject and the more tubes you use the closer you will have to get. I did include the 18-55 in my tests in the video. I found the 55-200 worked really well. Hope this helps.

Hi! is it specifically for macro or can i use it as a telephoto/zoom lens as well?
@PhotoGearFun
4 жыл бұрын
It's designed for macro but it you want to decrease the minimum focus distance of any lens you can use these tubes. In some cases you may lose infinity focus though. I have used these to do that. I hope this helps answer your question if not please let me know. Cheers.

Where it connects to the camera is solid there is a bit of wobble when the lens connects to the tube but not too much. Hope this helps! Cheers.

I'm pretty sure it does. I haven't specifically tested it but the tubes do have full electronic contacts. I shot most all of my macro on a tripod. Hope this helps. Cheers and thanks for watching!

Hi, I have a "new" Fuji X-T20 (a great price now in some offers) . I'm learning to do photography and I'm watching some extension tube for macro photos. Please, could you say me if autofocus works without problems? Some photos more in nature (as bee, flowers, ...)? Thanks for your answer.

Hello I used to have the xt20 it's a great little camera. Yes the autofocus works well with these tubes. You will have to get close to the subject and you lose infinity focus but other than that they work very well. Hope this helps. Cheers

Hey, on the Amazon page for those tubes it says "the focal length of lens should be greater than the length of the tube". So if I'm using a 24mm lens with those tubes are there going to be problems?
@PhotoGearFun
5 жыл бұрын
No but with that 24mm you might only be able to use the long tube or the short one not both together. At 24mm you will have to get very close to the subject in order to focus. That may be a good or bad thing depending on the subject. Hope this helps. Cheers and thanks for watching!
@Krizefugl

with extension tubes you basically move the focal plane closer to your lense. when the extension exceeds the focal length of your lens, you move your focal plane so far back that the focal point is behind your lens so you cannot get anything in focus anymore. for nikon id just suggest picking up a 50mm f1.8 prime lens alongside the tubes or use the 18-55mm kit lenses (current generation) and youll have enough room to play around with the tubes.
@DjAlonDevil

@@Krizefugl So even if there's a difference of 2mm it won't focus? Well I guess it's good to know that...
@Krizefugl

@@DjAlonDevil im not 100% sure if the "increased" focal length of aps-c sensors is a factor, too or not. for nikon that would mean focal length thats written on the lens (24mm in your case) multiplied by the crop factor (1.5 for nikon aps-c) which ends you up with a 36mm field of view so you got a little more wiggle room than youd have on full frame.
