They do have these for LMM and LML Duramax trucks too! I failed to mention that in the video. These head studs are definitely worth checking out if you're at that stage of your build. Link is in the description!

Have always used the arp 2000. I switched to these on my 2021 HO cummins. Torqued to 135lbs. Have had no issues. I actually thought the quality was better than arp. And unlike arp they include a socket to torque them. The 2018 kit works on 2021 cummins.

I wish they would have came in with a little bit stronger head studs :( I had one break before getting to their recommended torque and a buddy who races he actually won All Truck Challenge, he had two of these studs break on his old daily driver truck.. and I've seen a few other channels have them break as well 😞 sucks cause I was rooting for them because ARP is robbing us blind over some studs and they know we have no other choice unless we like replacing a $600 dollar fir ring head gasket.. 😞 I always root for competition to come out with products because the more companies making good parts means lower prices for us guys in our garages 😀 ❤️

Sweet. Its coming along. Any tips to clean inside of my frame on the 2nd gen? Theres years of caked mud in it. I've spent a few days blasting purple power and power washing it as best as I can. I removed my bed and got the rear squeaky clean. It's just the boxed section that's tough. I want to clean it well and apply an internal coating paint

Try getting some air hose line and drilling holes in the end up of and blocking off one end with a bolt and hose clamp and slide it down the frame and use your air compressor nozzle in the open end and blow. If that doesnt get it all, use the hose and a brush on the end instead of a bolt and blow it while scrubbing. Worked great for me

Not true on a performance engine you need 150 foot pounds to hold down and crush fire rings and you’ll have to check and re-torque as necessary every 5000 miles including relashing the valve train anytime you re-torque

debating using these on a duramax. I've done a couple duramax headgaskets jobs, previously used ARP but strongly considering using these. any duramax guys out there have any experiences with them?

I'm sure they're good quality but they're made in China right? That's where the price difference comes from. It's not like the company is doing us all a big favor.

@Kryle I think it's insane that anyone would consider these. I wouldnt have the same peace of mind that I do running ARP products, and my peace of mind is worth the extra $200.

Well i guess its a good thing that I said this set of xotics is comparable to ARP 2000s. The 625s are rated at a higher tensile strength and in a different price bracket. You're trying to compare apples to oranges. Did you even pay attention to the video? No worries, Xotic is releasing something new soon and I'll make another video explaining that when they're ready.

pure panoRAMa once you start making over 30 pounds of boost you start needing fire rings and 625’s or you’ll blow OEM head gaskets, especially when towing uphill

@92powerdiesel61

@@Haydini69 It depends on the cylinder pressure. Just by the nature of the beast the 6.7L has more pressure than a 5.9L, thus you have a nicer stock head gasket. Don't go crazy with timing especially at low RPMS and you'll be in a better spot. If you want to look into it even further get a way to look at drive pressure, that makes more of a difference than boost.

Except you need 150 foot pounds per foot to keep a performance fire ring head engine locked down and you’ll still have to hot re-torque every 5000 miles, Xotic does NOT have enough tensile strength, so this is really the wrong approach, sorry dude, you’re dreaming
@chriskahlson
4 жыл бұрын
Oddly Right but you’re really mixed up, with your numbers 625’s torque at 150 foot pounds, Xotic only torque at 125 foot pounds, call around to ARP, Fleece, Haisley those are the folks who know

This video is for the guys who don't have studs yet and are looking to install them. Letting them know there's other options out there. I wouldn't expect somebody to tear their head studs and just change over to something different when they've already got a setup that is working for them haha.
