My dad made a waterbed for me when I was a kid. It was a wooden box held up on bricks with the water mattress inside. Later, my mom bought a water bed for me. It was a fancy sleigh shaped one. My dog hated it. I assumed water beds were a thing of the past. It’s nice to see that they still exist and have advanced in style and technology.

That's a small looking hose... Who just has a water spigot in their bedroom for that? But side note. I had a water bed in the 90s. Fun stuff. I miss it.

Will rental companies still allow water filled furniture? with this new design. I used to have a waterbed. But apartment rental companies ((wont)) allow water filled furniture not even aquariums.

@afloat Waterbed - Questions concerning temperature - for someone who is an extremely hot sleeper, how cold will the temperature get ? Also as far as heat dispersion goes, will a person just end up in a puddle of sweat since there is not a lot for heat to absorb into and disperse into like in a traditional mattress? BTW my son like its super cold … so cold he likes it 60 degrees in the winter inside… he’s like a damn polar bear so looking for the coldest possible option.

I have a question : Can I have a waterbed without the heating element?
@afloatwaterbed6782
4 жыл бұрын
It is not recommended. Without the heater, the mattress will sap your body heat making you extremely cold. The heating element's purpose is to keep your body at its most comfortable temperature through the night.

Yes you can My friend had a heated waterbed and the heating element burned shorted and burned a hole through the vinyl and water all over, Never again will he have a waterbed.

We at Akva Waterbeds use a special foam topper (LE = Low Energy topper made of EUCAFEEL foam from Kabelwerke Eupen, Belgium) that isolates and can manage the climate very well without heater, tested in several surroundings. But it is important that the vinyl of the matress still is flexible with a colder temperature. Our laminated vinyl is made from polymer softeners, phthalate-free and works perfect.

@@wumiixzz2296 Hi! Possible to buy it directly from Denmark. We have no dealers in the U.S. so far...We zip the topper between our top and bottom cover. So if you want the perfect solution we would offer a complete cover with the topper layer. For that we need information about size and height of your existing cover. Best regards, Thomas

@@NeonHelix20 I have slept on a water bed for over 3 decades. I have "topped it off" maybe 4 times. Each time I topped it off was maybe 5-10 gallons, so no it doesn't have any effect on your water bill.

If assembly is expected to have a waterbed, then I would rather sleep on an ordinary bed.
