The Ubers in Mombasa are crazy. We checked and it showed us a price. The Uber guy calls and asks what price it shows. We tell him and he cancels. The next does the same. No one is picking us for the price showing on the app. They want higher. We end up taking the higher price despite the discount it’s showing us. Good job in fixing the scamming taxi woman. We Africans also need to tighten the rules to prosecute people who scam people. I mean, what if she had accepted your dare and let you walk out of the car in the middle of the night, with the baby and luggage, in a place you do not know, can you imagine that? An Uber driver in America would never do that because if you reported him to Uber, it would automatically revoke its association with him. This is the kind of accountability we need to reach in Africa. Let me also say that people like this scam everyone. I would not be surprised if they try this sort of crap to any other Kenyans who fall for it.
