@@adrienewilliams7186 I believe what she means is make the soap the way it's traditionally done, which is using ashes rich in either potassium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide. It will still be using a form of what is known as lye, just not a chemically processed and standardized form.

The main ingredients are plantain peels, the empty pod of the cocoa fruit and plantain leaves. These 3 ingredients are dried the burnt. Thanks for watching!

You really should wear goggles to protect your eyes, and gloves as well. Encourage new or potential soapers to do the same. Aside from that really enjoyed your video ☺️

Its the caustic version that does that. Mine is non caustic so you will have to use caustic soda.

Unfortunately l don=t do the butter extractions myself, that is done by the local women as their trade, l buy from them. Also no one does the mango butter extraction here in GHANA , which is a pity because we have lots of mango trees here..

Yes , if the aim is to make a bar soap instead of the traditional soft and mushy one. The ash is lye, so its about proportions . Thanks for watching

BonnieJean OHandley this response may be somewhat late as I’m only watching this video now but, the lye is what creates the very uniform look of the soap. As in the bar of soap appearance. Without it you would have the more natural looking soap😉

I like your channel and the fact you use organic ingredients. It would help though if you used a transparent bucket instead of the colored ones so we can instead of having to zoom the camera in. It also helps you to see areas that have not been properly mixed. Also for this one i didnt see your application of the plantain skin and leaves.
