Thanks Mike! I love reggae, I think my favorite flavor of rhythm. 💖💖💖💖 Last drink I had was some mead a friend brought back from Britain. Now, I could get to really love that stuff! Before that 2019 I had a shot of whiskey to celebrate 100 years since Prohibition was passed. Not much, obviously, of a drinker these days. Fortunately, even my wild youth I never got hooked on it. Drank a lot because everybody did. Stopped the moment I wasn't partying. But to those who fight the addiction, to anything, respect as you all battle whatever is holding you.... 💖💖💖💖

Glad you enjoyed it Daniel and thank you for sharing your personal history. Credit to you for the ability to control your use of a potentially dangerous substance.

A definition of alcohol? A powerful solvent! It dissolves: couples, families, friendships, your job when your boss fires you, your bank account, your neurons, your dignity. On the other hand it does not dissolve the problems that's for sure... 😔

I just looked at the lyrics…, I always thought he was saying “just a legal slave“… That explains my confusion.

Hi Fay, I have to say wow because I actually never knew this was about alcohol. I’ve never really looked at all of the lyrics. I thought or I assumed he was talking about racial oppression in some kind of employment situation. I know Lucky is from South Africa so I was picturing the apartheid period. But now I want to look at the lyrics in depth because somehow I missed all the alcohol references. I hardly ever drink myself, maybe very occasionally socially but I have known alcoholics so I know how people can be a slave to it. Thank you for opening my eyes to aspects of this song I was unaware of. 😀 i’m glad you enjoyed it. I love how within the reggae genre this really has a nice flowing melody to it and the women background singers are fantastic. I actually saw Lucky in concert a couple times around this time period.

I am glad now you know it's about alcohol. You are welcome and this is the beauty of music, we can interpret it in different ways. You are blessed to have seen him more than once
