The owner of African Stream is a Sudanese who was based in London.He relocated to live in Kenya a few years ago and set up African Stream.His KZitem channel grew exponentially within a few years and rival channels doing similar videos and content as him saw the channel as a big threat.Also many African and Western Governments were not happy with the content due to the many negative criticisms about them.

But also they are getting money from Russian politicians and others trying to do what the Western governments do and that's interrupt black thoughts. The channel rarely engaged with anyone who had legitimate questions towards their content that was false in many cases when African Stream was fact checked. They were wrong on a number points. First! Parents need to actually "raise" their children at home so that teaching does not become hazardous to one's mental and physical health. Kids today are very unruly and disrespectful. My mother was a teacher during my entire childhood...she truly enjoyed being a part of a child's development but would NOT survive as a teacher today to these belligerent no-home-trained students today. Education begins at HOME with LEARNING Manners, Integrity and Respect by being TAUGHT BY PARENTS--which is called "PARENTING"! None of that exist today in schools and very little of it in society because Parents are not PARENTING. Teachers TEACH while Parents should PARENT! Let's not get it twisted. Parents send their kids to school to be PARENTED instead of TAUGHT! That's the REAL Problems! #FollowtheFACTS

Please don’t think Black people have not made contributions to STEM and the tech industry in the USA but like everything else it’s stolen or hidden. Black people had their own platform years before there was a Facebook it was called “Black Planet” it was before it’s time and that’s what all these other platforms took their concept from. I’m ethnic Black American and was raised in San Mateo, California which became part of Silicon Valley and I can tell you that the world would be surprised if they only knew the history of the area (San Mateo, Palo Alto, Milpitas, Santa Clara etc) and how much Black Americans owned before they were pushed out and the contributions they made to the Tech industry that’s still hidden history. Even Stanford University took 400 acres of land from one Black man and lied said he gave it to them.

I remember Black Planet, thanks for the reminder! Wow that is very old school. It's a shame because there have probably been loads of these which ran out of steam. Also, I guess back then, it wasn't obvious that the Internet would become as dominant as it did.

@@elywananda We were always told the internet or information super highway was going to be what it is now they just didn’t anticipate it would grow as fast as it did. LOL. Well technically Facebook (Meta) is very old school too but they survived through numerous lawsuits in its infancy which would’ve ended other companies easily. However, I will say this they have something we don’t have and that’s using their relationships and resources amongst themselves where ever they are in the world. As Black people we are the only race that don’t use their diversity to do business support each other. Whereas it seems like we tend to look for differences to disqualify each other. Interesting as always. I think that black media platforms have always suffered from trying to identify what they want to be. Trying to instantly compete with large online platforms creates a lot of expectation from investors and users about immediate growth. On the other hand being a small but consistent place for communication takes time and commitment to the clarity of a given mission, whether that is black media or alternative media that happens to be black owned. I don't think being a "black" platform is specific enough. I also think the timing (in the midst of a year full of elections) is probably not great.

Most companies use multiple external data centers across the world, so you never are locked to one region and it's issues. You want a social media that you control. You own private social media. The data centers don't have to be in Africa. But even if you want them to be in Africa. Is Africa all dark all at once? Have data centers in Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Senegal, etc... To embrace technology and the future, people need to come from a culture that values tenets like open mindedness and thinking outside of the box. I dont believe many blk African peoples are optimised for embracing tech because many traditional beliefs or upbringing suppresses critical thinking skills. Being disciplined in the harsh way many african children are only promotes docility. For these reasons, i have little faith that we as a collective will pioneer any form of technology that will benefit the day to day lives of africans. Culture and mindset needs to be expanisve enough to embrace the change and evolution technology can bring. Right now, many africans still sweep floors with reed branches and do other unnecessary manual labours when we have the tech to alleviate it, saving time and energy, which could be spent in more productive tasks... For example, I hate to see children being shunted into the corner during family gatherings. We should bring them into conversations and encourage them to express their views and engage with topics. I also think we can be overly short sighted. We need more of us to make sacrifices now so our children will have the space and time to grow into themselves, learn what they're interested in. I don’t understand this video because it’s not like most other nations have their own platforms, it’s really mainly America and China. It’s not like there are any British platforms
@blaqueruby4946

You missed the point... he who owns runs the world... Due to white supremacy, other white nations don’t need to fear if another white person has a corporation... Same way if a Nigerian owned a platform, a Kenyan will be fine... If you’re blk, neither of these owners promote anything positive for you, and you do not have any voice except one that suits them... Example, look at shacarri Richardson, she is complete trash. Yet the media push her so young blk girls will follow her. All the rap music glorifying blk on blk violence, have you seen them promote the equivalent for white men🤷🏾♀️ If you don’t own it, you don’t control the narrative

@@LondonMoneyCashEnterprise 🇬🇧Bebo? 🇷🇺VK? UK talent ends up working for American companies or throwing good money after bad. VC money in the UK remains both dumb and skittish. The often cited Autonomy turned out to be a fraud exposed by the HP acquisition. DeepMind started off interesting but the whole world is talking about OpenAI. Arm Holdings should have left Intel behind years ago but they don’t build - they just license out designs 🤷♂️ There are British platforms and companies but it seems their lack of diversity (in multiple senses) has prevented them from really establishing a solid footing on the global stage.

How about BP create their own platform instead of always depending on other people to create something for them. Secondly, could it be people are fed up of the same mediocre talking points of relationships, dating and obsessing over other races of women. The crab in the barrel mentality and low bar conversation is tiring.

even the algorithm is easy, the main issue is getting us to use those platforms and monetize it. It took youtube 7 years to make profit. So who's going to invest on our own apps until it turns profit? so yeah if we cared one of our govenrments could even insentivise use of own sites over tik tok etc...

The real solutions to these problems begin with the government departments of education in all countries of African ancestry. The education departments must put into their school curricula, (at the secodary and tertiary levels) courses that build appreciation for African history, and courses that emphasize the need for African unity, and couses that stimulate : African technological innovation and African economic development, economic self sufficiency, African resource ownership, and African food security.

It goes deeper than media platforms. On the international level black people are the least competitive. Therefore we entirely depend on the nations that oppress us for all of our needs. This condition of grave dependancy on the heathen for our lives is actually the fullfillment of the prophesy of deuteronomy 28, because we are the true children of Israel
