Hello my dear! Farfetch is my favorite online boutique to go to! I truly trust them, all of my shopping experiences were great and positive. Too bad that they are doing bad financially. Hope they can save the company! Thank you so much for this update. Get well soon and I am looking forward to the next livestream on Wednesday ♥️♥️♥️ take care Dacob

The name “coupon group “ is a big part of the problem with these luxury brands. They don’t want to be associated with the name “coupon”. Secondly you are absolutely correct in the fact that counterfeiters have had years to prefect the legacy pieces so much that it grants the question of. Is a super fake really a fake?

Personally, I’m with you Dacob! I only shop vintage clothing on the pre-loved market. I’ve gotten burned a while back buying classic bags pre-loved, and since then I only buy from the boutique. Unfortunately the counterfeits have gotten way out of hand!

I've even heard of people returning fake bags to LV or even department stores where there may not be an expert in the brand to receive the item. It's scary times quite frankly. I recently purchased a $600 bag from coach online as there are no stores in my area. Coach only had 2 more of the bags in stock when I made my purchase. The bag ultimately came from one of the stores in Miami directly instead of their warehouse. I've had that to happen before but this time when the package arrived there was no bag inside, instead I received 2 dresses in different sizes not a Coach brand dress at all btw. Not sure if a switch was made with the shipper(UPS) or at the store directly. Scammers are everywhere. I'm still trying to get a refund I am fairly confident Coach won't give me a hard time but at the same time I now feel like I have to video tape myself opening my packages when they arrive as proof of what I do or don't receive.

Totally agree with Dacob about preloved market. I found some beautiful Burberry and Chanel jackets in excellent condition. As having fashion design professional education and sewing skills, I can see stitching quality and techniques used, weight and feel of the fabrics when I shop at actual stores. But it is hard to check all those boxes when shopping on line. You have to rely on authenticators you even don't know. Even Burberry trench coats became a prey for counterfeiters. As for bags, I don't even dare. I don't believe that Chanel produced so many classic flap bags that people are getting so tired of it and frantically selling on second hand market. I am sure a majority of it are counterfeits.

It makes me feel sad to think of them going out of business. I still haven’t gotten over Barney’s NY closing. They had the best shoe and children’s departments among their jewelry, handbags etc. Oh damn , they had it all lol! Thank you for the interesting content and making us think instead of just spend. Love you ❤

As a fragrance channel here on KZitem. I can say that these brands are out of control. Their “entry” products like cosmetics, skincare, fragrance are no longer obtainable . They are out pricing themselves. This will result in less sales, making the brand has less popularity.

I had such trouble with an order from farfetch - they have no control over these individual boutiques they sell products for, and when there was an "issue" they didn't have my back - I had to file a chargeback with my cc.😢

I wear a lot of Jil Sander and have to shop most of my stuff online unless I travel - there's only a tiny selection available where I live. I've been shopping on Farfetch for years and years because it's a practical portal, but there are many store websites you can shop from if you search them out. And I've been waiting for customers to draw back from spending due to the constant price increases. Some say that customers of brand X will spend no matter what, but it looks like it ain't so…

Good advice about the pre-loved market- avoid unless you know exactly what you are looking for. It’s amazing how many fakes there are and how diverse they are- it’s not just Hermes bags and Gucci belts. The fakers will fake anything they can make money off of- lesser known brands and vintage clothing are not exempt.

The only way to make some of these brands wake up is to hit them in the pocket book. The constant increasing of prices and more than once a year with some brands is ridiculous along with the prices. And I wonder if, when they are increasing these prices, their employees are also benefiting from the price increases in salary increases, retirement plans, and healthcare benefits. Probably not. In my opinion, edging out the 'aspirational' customer, is to cut off your nose to spite your face. Cosmetics and fragrance are in every major department store in the world. Makeup and perfume are sold every day to anyone willing to pay the price point. There is no exluding the store customers money. They can't pick and choose in the department store whether you get a lipstick or not. It isn't the creme de la creme of society buying a 10K bag. But the daily sales are nothing to sneeze at, thanks to the 'aspirational' customer. I hate that term and I dislike snobbery, elitism, entitlement. However you say it.

Thanks for speaking about this. We have shares and just can’t decide what to do. The “aspirational “ client thing is really not sitting well with me. Something that a lot of brands and retailers forget is that many people buy pre loved also for environmental reasons. And many are not buying the big ticket bags because they’re all made of leather . I have friends who only buy Stella McCartney bags or mid tier designer bags because they are vegan and no matter how much money they have, they don’t want to buy animal products at all. Luxury basically refuses to cater to that market. So a very good friend of me has a lot of Angela Roi bags and when at Chanel last month, they treated her horribly, not knowing that she’s very well off. She wanted to buy jewelry and ready to wear for a lot of money but she refused because they would only treat her well after checking out who she is. It was disgusting tbh. Personally I love bags in plain leather , no visible logos these days. I don’t like the bags metal color clashing with my jewelry.

Oh Dacob, i have exactly the same feeling towards the pre loved market. I have found a few brands where the craftsmanship is some of the best artisanal handiwork ive ever encounteted. Compared to rtw from the last decade- just cannot compare. Handstitched silk with stitches size 2-3mm, i nearly cried over the 3 layered and architecturally designed construction.... i buy online and im actually to scared to mention the brands that i love since im being a bit Gollum. What's interesting is that these brands were doing this sort of thing to early fashion influencers but now they sort of treat them like low-tier elite clientele so that they can do promotion to the "aspirational client" (ugh)? It's like they give away a ton of product and experiences to influencers to sell the idea of quality and luxury rather than the products themselves. At this point, why would I want to overspend on a Ferragamo when I could find a smaller brand or artisan to provide/make my own bag for essentially the same price point or lower and for fairly equal, equal to, or even superior quality? Same goes for clothing, etc. These brands are going to realise if they haven't already that there is a cap to the actual worth of their goods and that if they want to play games, smart people who are good with their money will laugh and look elsewhere. * edit: absolutely agree about pre-loved for non-classic, seasonal items!

THIS. This is what makes me worry about consigning....a store here in Australia wants me to simply leave my clothes and bags with them, and they will decide the price the item is to be sold, with step downs in price after a set period which I have to agree with. No inventory just hand it over. What happens if the item is 'lost' or stolen? Silence on this issue. Items 'walk' from retail shops all the time. What guarantee is there it won't happen? Especially now that shoppers and employees are using the five fingered discount, ...also so much is on trust and the integrity of this shop attendants. I walked away with my authentic items, they were surprised. They talked down my items but I could see they were a cut above what they already had, too much rubbish in their shop. IMO it's the start of a major crisis in retail.
