As a divorced mom in her late 30s, I'm often pressured to run out and find a great guy right away because I am getting older. I am not looking for anybody right now. I'd rather be alone than with a jerk!

You are in your late 30s you are still young. I had my child at 38. It is easier to find a partner at a younger age just because there are more men alive but it is better to just take your time especially since you have children. I think that getting older part goes back to when people thought women expired at 30 or 40.

Julie A. I have been divorced six years just turning 50. People did the same thing to me and I rushed in and had a two year relationship with a very selfish person wasted my time and after that I decided I was just going to be me focus on my son and things I want to do without compromise. I have yet to find someone who I consider good enough for me. And maybe I never will because I just can't settle knowing what I know now.so hang in there and I believe that the best way to meet the right person is to find the things that you want to do and go do them and that's how you meet someone who is a bit like minded because they will be doing the same thing good luck to you and remember you're not alone

It took me a looooooooooooooong time after my divorce to understand that my priority should be... me! I actually came so far in my journey about enjoying my own company that I'm not even sure I want an official boyfriend for the next few years (lol). I'm having too much fun being single and doing what *I* want! I'm also convinced being so comfortable with myself will land me the right partner who will be as happy and content with himself as I am (as you said, we'll both be at 100%!). Thank you Elisa for this video, and enjoy the ride even if sometimes the waves may be a bit bigger than what you would like. They will still carry you to that beautiful island you dream of. ♥

That was a cute analogy of the shipwreck. A marriage is a union of two individuals who join their souls together. Divorce rips the union of one in half. That’s why you feel do disjointed. It takes time to heal. Many people never get over their marriage and get into another relationship and without going through the healing process, they create another shipwreck. I went to a DivorceCare support group. It helped me tremendously. My church was a big support and actually the divorce process really drew me closer to God and reading His Word and what it says about me and my plan and purpose in life. It changed me at my core. God can and will keep you afloat Elisa!! ((hugs))❤️❤️❤️

I had no idea how inspired I would feel about it until I watched you and saw how you embrace your life and shine even more in your latest videos than you did in the first ones I watched. I too am in a similar situation with ending my marriage and the story you told was so accurate to how I feel, most of the time anyway. So, I just want to say thank you for sharing this. This was a terrific video which will help so many and is relatable to both men and woman. The main theme is when scared and injured one will latch on to anyone or thing for survival- a drowning person will do that. Once you learn to take care of yourself- scared but necessary, you become more self sufficient and discerning as to what it is that you need in the ocean debris to keep riding the storm until you get to your island. You'll become more discerning as to what what will keep you afloat and what will sink you. I'm not talking you personally, but generally. Storms do stop- squalls are temporary but dangerous- emotions can be our worse enemy.

Elisa, everything happens for a reason, and when we're going through something we may not realize then why certain things are happening. But later on the reason's will come to us and make sense. We are stronger than what we think. I've sent everything to the universe to decide for me, if I'm meant to be alone or have a partner. Hello ! Isn’t it wonderful that we have the internet to express and get feedback,. I have been following you for only 2 months now, but have gone back to ready anything you have put out there. I am a 62 year old rock and roller and I can really relate to you. I am married to a wonderful man of 15 years younger than me. We just celebrated our 17 year anniversary Feb 23. We have been together for 21 years. Prior to this marriage I was married to abusive man for 17 and a half years. My life began at 42 when I met my husband now. These are our journeys of life. Isn’t it wonderful that you are living your life and doing you all the way!. Because of you I am in my 3rd month of dye free hair, which I am 90 % silver white. Years ago my husband said more than once that he could careless if I never colored my hair. I have been recovering from oral surgery and I found you and you gave me the courage to to this. I’m ready and excited. It is not pretty since I’m an Italian olive skinned woman with long dark brown hair with a strip of silver down the front. However, I am embracing it. Around the same time that I made this decision my husband s electric shaver was cutting up his face and he stopped shaving cause of the cuts. He still hasn’t shaved even though I bought him a replacement. He said that he won’t shave at least for awhile cause that is his way to support me while I grow my gray out. I know that this is hard on him since he hates bristle and is used to a daily shave, I think he’s adorable. It’s his choice to keep it if he wants or not it’s his face. Anyway, thank you for all your videos. You are strong woman and as long as you keep doing you , you’ll always stay true to yourself. Stay happy. Rockin from Wisconsin

Your story sounds very close to a friend of mine story. I believe her husband and she have about the same age gap. Her husband is the sweetest guy. They been together about the same amount of years as you and your husband. Her first husband was an emotionally abusive man in that he cheated without remorse. She met her husband when he was dating her friend and her friend was not faithful. She went on to be just good friends with him and eventually they began to date. They have an easy going relationship. At the beginning she was more in the role of motivator but now he has everything together financially, etc. so she can have a relaxed and easy life. She likes to pamper him a bit but he doesn't take advantage. Post Note: It is funny because at 58 the men that I notice the most or have more in common with are in their 40s. I'm still trying to look at guys my own age but I'm not sure if I can find a man who will be willing to tolerate my choice in music. I'm heavily into Korean kpop, rock and rap and it isn't something I'm willing to give up.

Sorry to hear about your divorce, being a divorcee myself and studying spiritually and Kabbalah I realized that divorce happened for many because we fail to connect to our partner, our ego grows and it wants to receive more and more.... Spiritually teaches us to cover all the differences with love, check our intentions constantly and see if it is our ego acting up. Most of the time it is. I know for me my divorce was a growth experience. I wish you the best of luck and wisdom to decide what is good for you and your soul.

Exactly! Every time I hear a woman say "he/she completes me" or "he/she is my other half" I just about gag. You cant bring half of yourself to a relationship and expect it to work, just as you can't accept half of someone else.
@Cynnas

No, 100/100 makes no sense. 50/50 means each person contributes half 50%, each the same amount, to make up 100% of the relationship. 200% to make a whole (relationship) isn't a thing.

I stumbled onto this video randomly and was very intrigued by the topic. But can I give a suggestion, I hope you don't mind, but the music is very distracting. You don't have to change it, but maybe lower it so the focus is more on what you are saying which I find really interesting. 🙂

I am in total agreement. The music is too loud. Shouldn't happen again :)

I learned to drive an 18 wheel truck after a ‘life on a beautiful ship’. Then, I met a cattle & oil rancher after both of us had been single almost eight years. We have nine sons and daughters from two previous marriages. We have two in high school. The rest are college age. It’s important to recognize that young kids need empathy when their parents split up, however, it’s better to be a happier parent solo than one who is is not smiling and unhappily married for your kids sake. I dated a ton of people. I realized I wasn’t interested in committing to a new long term relationship until a decade after my divorce. It’s also very important to me for a potential partner be at a similar crossroad. I wasn’t going to tolerate a lot of baggage ie: dating a married man was out of the question (or if he had a live in girl friend). Believe me, when you are in your late forties and fifties you want to avoid any more drama than exists! One exception: I would encourage women to date younger partners, that I do believe can work great.

I've watched all your videos on your grey hair transition & I think you look MOST beautiful with grey hair than your colored hair. You look good with both, but your grey hair makes you look more sexy ....I think!!! Really, Seriously. I can't wait for mine to get fully grown out!! Thank you, you are an inspiration. 🎀🌹🌹💕💕 Oh BTW: growing mine out hasn't stopped younger guys from being attracted to me. I'm getting more attention than ever.

Oh yes my Beautiful I am just like you...when in major life dilemma I need some scientific explanation...some story sort of ..yes prefferably a psychologist ....but hey...even a fortunate teller !..does the trick..just used one few moth ago...and together with my own explanations and common sense..a bit of rational thinking I did get myself back across the ocean from Europe back to North America...and I will swim my best until that damn island shows up!...You look absolutely smashing...you have sooo much time to get that right prince for you..no settling for less...Love you...big hugs...Jana

The best way to deal with it is accept the fact that we're all dead already. We just haven't reached that point in the "time space continuum" .. time isn't what you think it is.

You used the key word... ENJOY! You should always try to take in something of value on the journey to your destination. It would be a shame to overlook all of the hard work and obstacles overcome in your quest to get there. It’s one of the reasons I am considering divorce (separated for now) because my husband makes me miserable on the way to what would’ve been our destination. We constantly argued over the easiest, most peaceful route, as if we were steering in two different directions, and he let his mother board *our* ship AND steer it with no ticket, so I decided to jump ship and take a detour 😂
