What's the cost of 2 drawer slides? How long will the drill bearings last with transverse forces? Drill speeds are very limited. Stop messing, just go and buy a router.

Exactly what I thought when watching this. Besides that it can't have the accuracy and longevity of a real router. Not clever at all.

Be interesting to see how smooth the cut is considering the drill only spins below 2000 rpm, but an actual router spins at around 23,000 rpm or more. Over 10 times faster

Carpenters will probably laugh at you. It would be an incredibly choppy finish and you would wear the router bit and the drill out quicker. Just buy a cheap trim router and you will get far better results for DIY projects. Homemade tools often result in dollar store quality projects at best but if that is your goal then by all means go for it
@brucen4719

If you already have a cordless drill, then just buy a cordless router for $150. You spent at least that amount in parts and labor to build this and a router will do a much better job and is 100 times more versatile.
