1) An unexpected idea from old shirts. I cut off the sleeves and sew stylish things from them.
4 sleeves from 2 shirts will make a full-fledged skirt and it’s okay if they are of different colors. Today I will show you how to do this.
Master Class:
- Each sleeve was cut along the seam. In this case, the cuff is cut, and when unfolded, one wedge of the skirt is obtained.
- On the side where the fastener is, I overcast the edges and stitched the sleeves. It turns out one half of the skirt, the width at the waist is 47 cm.
- The front half was slightly reduced. It depends on what size.
- Connected both halves of the skirt. The belt is finished, all that remains is to hem it.
- This skirt can be made from one shirt. The sleeves will go to the front, and the rest of the shirt will go to the rest and then you will get an even large size.
- Decorative detail: I cut 4 strips from a dark shirt and sewed ties from them, which I stitched to the waist next to the side seams.
- As a result, the waistline easily decreases and increases.
- You can fasten the cuffs to a second button, and also tighten the belt with ties.
A little free time and the unusual skirt is ready.
2) The idea is a godsend! I cut off the sleeves and back of the shirt and left only the collar and front half.
Many girls like to throw a man's shirt over themselves and feel more confident and calm while their loved one is not at home. A men's shirt can be used in the kitchen and an apron will become a fashionable accessory there.
You need to put the shirt on yourself and figure out what to cut off and what to leave.
Here's what I did:
- From the collar in front diagonally on both sides I cut a bib to the waist line, then along the side seam
- I left the collar intact! I just cut off the fabric around it, leaving 2 cm. This is how it turned out, the apron will be held on the collar.
- I placed small darts at chest level.
- I cut off the lower part with the cuff from the sleeve, about 20 cm for the pocket. The rest was used for bias tape.
- I applied the tape to the wrong side of the apron and stitched it. Then I turned it right side out and stitched it 1 cm wide from the edge.
- The pocket on the apron is a very convenient detail. You can put matches, glasses, a phone there, and things that should always be at hand. In addition, the pocket is decorative.
- I cut the lower part of the sleeve along the fastener so that the cuff remained intact. I turned the pocket over on 3 sides, smoothed out the folds and stitched it to the apron.
- For the ties I cut out strips 7 cm wide.
Ready.
On the one hand, the apron is similar to the classic model, but on the other hand, the result is an original thing that can become a tool of temptation and just another cute thing in a woman’s wardrobe.
3) An unexpected idea from old men's shirts. I cut off the sleeves and sew useful things from them.
Today I have a shopper bag made of unlined sleeves. It’s roomy, so you won’t be ashamed to go to the grocery store with it.
Master Class:
- I cut the sleeves along the seam and then cut the cuffs. I unfolded them and they turned out to be quite large pieces of fabric.
- I trimmed the sleeves along the edges, folded them right sides inward and stitched. The resulting cuffs are the top of the bag.
- I sewed the reverse side from pieces of the same shirts. The size of the handbag will depend on how wide this part is.
- The bar with buttons went to the top. I combined the fabrics, cut out a pocket, and used a piece of the collar for processing.
- I stitched and overcast all the parts. I formed corners for the bottom.
- For the handles I used a bar with buttons from a blue shirt. You can zip them up.
The advantage of such a bag is that it is sewn quickly: there is no need to process the top part and the handles are already ready.
This is how different scraps were used to create a stylish handbag. Surely no one has one like this.
