What an explanation 👍👏👏 i use peas also while cooking poha and i sprinkle chopped onion, tomatoes, grated fresh coconut , cucumber pieces. n little sauce .....u can add paneer , dry fruits or soyabean chunks also for rich n healthier option 😊😊

Hi Poonamji, great tips for maintaining the shape of the poha. Thank you for sharing it with us. As a Mumbaikar, I would like to share my inputs for the recipe. Red onions are never used in poha, always the regular ones. Before serving one can sprinkle some nylon sev and finely chopped onion . Tastes awesome .

I really love your cooking tips cos they're very practical n helpful. Pls do lemme know when n how to add potatoes cos I love them in poha. Also mustard seeds are sarson, not rai 🙏🏻😊

Thanks for your appreciation Ekta. If adding potatoes, you would add them after frying onions for a bit. Add small pieces of potato, cover with a lid and cook completely. Then add poha. Rai is also called mustard seeds. One is black, and other is brown!

Hello Poonam Ji, THank you so much for your channel. I live in Canada and currently locked inside due to the current situation and your channel provides me a lot of dishes to try and remain healthy. I would like to request you if you can recommend some dishes that people like me can make using chickpea flour (besan). Because as far as I remember, in India besan based dishes need to be fried (deep or shallow) which is not allowed in my university Studio apartment. For example, I can make Gatte ki sabzi. But what else I can do with besan, please suggest. Thanks!

Hello Ashish, I am glad my recipes are working well for you. You could make besan chilla. I have shared 2 different ways. Besan punjabi style kadhi. You could replace deep fried pakoras with besan boondi (the one we use to make raita) Just add boondi a few minutes before serving. Else you could cook veggies along with kadhi. That is Sindhi style kadhi. Make missi roti/paratha with besan and atta mix. If you can order ebelskiver pan online, you can make kadhi pakoras and koftas without deep frying. Kofta curry is an option then. Check out the pan. It is a healthy option. You can use ebelskiver pan to make many other things as well with oats, potatoes, sooji. That makes it low calorie version For meetha, you can make besan halwa, sudka (winter drink), laddoo, burfi etc. I have videos on many of the above foods. let me know if you need any links

@@poonamskitchen @Poonam's Kitchen :)..i actually did..turned out just as tasty as i remembered..and a note for ur viewers..ur soaking instructions are spot on coz my poha has always been khila khila with this recipe but yesterday i got a call as i was washing poha and let it sit longer than instructed...even tho the taste was yum..it got a bit mushy... totally my fault :(

Hi, Poonam, very tempting and colorful,😋one tip if you don't mind:😊 please use silicone spatula or spoon to avoid any breakage of poha while stirring. Tried and tested 🙂👍 actually certain tools make cooking easy and interesting 😊.

Hi Rupal, thanks for the appreciation, and your input. I totally agree about use of silicone spatula. I do use it on a regular basis. In the video, I have replicated what street vendors do, that's why the use of iron kadhai and metal spatula

Nice recipe, I would prefer to have crispy groundnut so better to add it before onion and a dash of sugar enhances the flavor to great extent

Navaneeth, for crispiest groundnut, fry them first thing in the oil, and take out of the pan. Add fried groundnut in the end while mixing in lemon juice and coriander leaves. Yeah, sugar does enhance the flavors. I too added sugar in the recipe!

Haanji Sangeeta, mei bhi daalti hoon. Aloo achchha lagta hai poha mei. Video recipe kanda poha ki hai isiliye sirf kanda dala hai. Mei vegetable poha bhi banati hoon, usme carrots, beans aur cauliflower bhi dalti hoon
