What was interesting is how the young ones who used it just thought it was cool but the older ones actually had a deeper reason to use the device, to feel like flying, to want to do things their body won't let them do anymore and to see their loved ones. They have said for a long time now that VR/AR should be used as a therapy tool in nursing homes where people can't get outside.

I started watching this video with substantial skepticism... and ended it being very impressed with the discussion and peoples' reactions and considerations about the AVP's (and VR's in general) affect on society. I'm over 60, and love VR/AR... but I have mixed feelings about whether or not VR, etc., will be better or worse for society. I can see how it could be incredibly helpful for education and, ironically, even communication--but at the same time, I worry it will adversely affect the depth of those communications. Anyway, awesome video and discussion, Jack. Thank you... ❤

Not that surprising. It’s just history repeating itself. It was the same skepticism that people felt back in the 1900s when the internet was created or when smartphones really took off. For one, the 100-year-old was so wholesome. I'm not sure if I would even be able to take the headset away from her. Also, it's so hard to say it's so good in so many ways. It would definitely help kids engage in school. It would allow people to do things that they normally aren't able to do. If they are sick or if they have physical problems, it would allow people to experience things they can't normally afford. It would allow you to feel so immersed in so many things, but at the same time on the other hand, people would probably not interact with each other the same as normal I can see people honestly not even looking each other in the eyes as much, but overall I think this will be good for society
