5:07 to 6:49 is solid gold. That finish is what I teach my students, the foot under the calf while bringing the heels to the mat. It gets both legs involved in a way that uses their natural strength. Legs are strongest in a front/rear kicking motion. The "old" way of finishing with an ankle under the knee pulling the head down andd trying to squeeze your legs together isn't nearly as strong. The detail of swinging to the other side to break posture though, that is awesome!

One thing I am noticing here - prior to watching this video I always kind of thought that K guard always had the right knee (in this video example ) tucking to the inside space of the top guy’s left thigh . But I notice , on this video, that the knee only tucks down inside the opponent’s inside space of their left thigh when the bottom guy is interested in attacking the legs . For all the upper body attacks, the knee does not tuck inside the thigh. Is this correct ?
@KnightJiuJitsu
Ай бұрын
I’d say that’s accurate. I’m sure there are exceptions, but for the most part, leg outside = better upper body attacks, leg inside (half guard) = better lower body attacks.
