Building a new substation to handle power from a new 1500+ acre solar farm. Agile by BETA shifts substation construction from the field to the factory. Factory built modules are installed on site in much less time than typical substations would be, which not only fast-tracks your project, but also reduces safety risks.
This time lapse was shot over several months in central Washington state, from a 30ft tower specially constructed to capture this project from an elevated vantage point. The tower had to not only support a full frame DSLR camera system and solar panels, but also antennas and signal boosters to accommodate being able to utilize a cellular connection in a very remote region of the state. Nick Grier Photography designed and installed the tower and time lapse system to reliably capture this project in extreme conditions. Wind speeds were regularly in excess of 60 miles per hour, and temperatures ranging from near zero to over 115 degrees F in mid-summer.
