My Ten Favorites! Just saying my favs and opinion in whatever order because I want to see others' opinions. All clones aside, Pliers based only, because SAK can get its own list. 10. Surge (You like the potential of batman's utility belt) 9. Gerber Center Drive (That smooth flick is the closest thing to a real lightsaber) 8. Gerber Slip Joints (Do you want some tools with those pliers?) 7. Victorinox Swiss Tool (You work smart, not hard) 6. Squirt Es4 (I like getting shocked whenever I dont lockout the right breakers) 5. Supertool 300 (It's what's on the inside that counts) 4. Sog Powerpint (Size doesn't matter) 3. Leatherman Crunch (I always worry if it has a screw loose) 2. Goat Multitool (Because it's still in my dreams, I haven't been disappointed yet) 1. Leatherman Signal (My personal Edc. Why? Rape Whistle.. I just like to blow it when my wife approaches for attention)

My path to multi tool addiction 😭 1. Leatherman Crunch - my first buy because the vice grips trumps a pliers all day in my work as a mechanical technician . 2. Leatherman Surge. Wife got it for me for birthday after lots of less than subtle hints. The best of the lot but not a practical carry - it lives in my car. 3. Leatherman Charge tti. Got it half price on Done Deal. An absolute gem of a tool! Does it all and very carryable on a belt. 4. Gerber Splice. Of course I then had to explore keychain options. Most impressed. 5. Leatherman Micra. Heard it was better than the Gerber - it most definitely isn't! 6. Gerber Lockdown Drive. Got a lot of stick from reviewers but I find it very useful tool set, especially the screwdriver. Sometimes I wear Snickers pants at work, sometimes I have to wear overalls. I wear leisure /track suit pants inside the overalls and this clips into the pocket and you wouldn't know it was there. 7. Sog Powerpint. Another little gem of a tool that does an awful lot for it's size. I find myself using it a lot for the same reasons as 6. Remember, a tool is only handy if you have it with you. 8. Victorinox Swiss Card Lite. A very handy set of features in an item you can carry in your wallet. I even got wifey one!

I bought my first multitool a year and a bit ago. Never really thought that they would be all that usable but I also wanted to just own one. The site I get my pocket knives from one day had a great deal on a Gerber Truss. One I couldn't miss out on. It took me a year to actually try to use it and I was honestly pleasantly surprised at how handy this thing was! Now in a short time after using it and watching loads of videos I bought a victorinox classic SD. Very surprised by that tiny thing I bought the vix tinker deluxe. Technically still has pliers so you might be able to sneak it in this video? 😅 Yesterday I ordered a roxon spark for my MTB kit and I'll be ordering the victorinox mini champ to replace the classic on my keys. Still on my wishlist are; Roxon s802 phantom Roxon m2 Nextool mini sailer Gerber dime Gerber multiplier 600 pro scout I should probably stop watching your videos! 😂

I already have a Leatherman Knifeless Rebar, Charge orange G10 and then my 1st better Multitool, the Multiforce, for bigger multitools. I also have a few colors of Victorinox classics and Ramblers. Then a Gerber Vise for my smaller multitools. I would buy a SOG Powerpint, the rest of the Leatherman multitools I don't have, especially the Skelatool and the Signal, which I love the look of. I would definitely get the Leatherman Arc and the new Garage. Because of the customization, I would get the Goat multitool, even though it's not on Amazon. I am sure I would have enough money left over to get a few Victorinox, both pliers base and Swiss Knife ones, especially the Cybertool. Last, I would get a few Roxon, NexTool, etc. I would get some of the smaller ones mostly, for NexTool and Roxon, especially since smaller multitools from Leatherman seem to be going away. Now I will watch the video and see what you pick. I am thinking one of theNexTool mini multitools will be on the list, along with a SOG and definitely the Leatherman Wave or Charge. All of which are the ones I would pick up. I would be halfway tempted to just see if I could use the money for custom multitools to be made, where I could pick the tools and use whatever money is left for a few favorite ones like the Leatherman Arc, Signal, Skeletool, SOG Powerpint, and a NexTool Mini Sailor or similar. As soon as I started the video I thought about the Gerber Dual Force. I think you have it on the table.

I just can't tolerate with the rivets in the Swiss Tools...😩 Can't strip it for cleaning, can't replace parts. Is the handle on the SOG Flash MT as sharp in hand as it looks ?
@hvacbudget8600

That is definitely the downside with Victorinox. Wish the tools weren't riveted. I'll have to check the Flash but it seems like it's rounded so it feels fine.

Picked up the Scissors version of the Nextool Mini Sailor last week. The micro pliers are pretty cool and the file is actually very very nice in my opinion! I think you've convinced me in getting a black SOG Powerpint... I've been infected and you are patient zero.

Comparing my power pint to the flash m/t I have to bear down abnormally hard on it or the bit spins. Minimal toolset and definitely for much lighter duty tasks. The handle that holds the bit is sorta flimsy, overall I’m not really impressed. The only saving grace is the blade! I live in Canada it’s almost impossible to get my hands on an assisted knife but customs doesn’t bat at eye at a multi tool ;);)
@bri9435

I consider the flash m/t as mostly a knife combined with mediocre pliers. The bit driver is almost unusable. Maybe I got a dud, Sog qc and all. but it’s hard for me to recommend the tool

I have all of these except the SOG Flash MT & the Sync 1, & I like them all. If I had to choose, then my 3 favourites are (in order) the Leatherman Charge+, Victorinox Spirit & SOG PowerPint. Leatherman Free P4 a close 4th. My summary as follows..... Leatherman Charge +: Huge amount of tools, comfy to use. Smaller/ lighter than the Surge yet still robust & rugged. Victorinox Spirit: The Rolls Royce of MT's (man, that finish....!). A thing of beauty & elegance & almost too nice to use. SOG PowerPint: Interesting size/ form factor. Small & light enough for discrete EDC, yet just big enough to be actually useful. Leatherman P4: Love the innovation of the magnetic operation & its smooth opening. Nice styling & finish too.

Skeletool? You say that SOG doesn't have much competition in the Flash MT size range, but wasn't the Flash made to be an alternative to the Skeletool? I have a CX that's like 15 years old and it's probably the tool I've carried most often over the years. I have all sorts of multi tools and I find that when I carry them in the pocket they always feel too big and bulky. The Skeletool rides in the pocket like a pocket knife and makes for a perfect EDC
@hvacbudget8600
Жыл бұрын
The reason I didn't mention the Skeletool is because at 4" it is the same length as the Wave or Charge. Obviously it is a lot lighter but length wise it is still a comparable size to the EDC size tools mentioned.
