Banking sources in Marib revealed a new agreement with Sana'a..
This comes amid a liquidity crisis sweeping the oil province after huge amounts of money belonging to it were seized by influential parties in the province.
The news sources confirmed that the agreement stipulates dealing in foreign currencies instead of the local currency such as the Saudi riyal and the US dollar only.
The new agreement between the traders aims to avoid the crisis of the new banking division between the two parties and the scarcity of liquidity in the markets.
The agreement came a few days after a military point affiliated with the Arab coalition in Hadhramaut seized huge sums of money belonging to exchange companies in Marib in the old currency circulating in areas controlled by the Houthi group.
The looted amounts were estimated at about one and a half billion riyals that traders in Marib were using in their transactions with their counterparts in the Sana'a province affiliated with the Houthi group.
The city is suffering from an unprecedented liquidity crisis, according to the sources.
This comes after Al-Arada accused some tribes of allying with the Houthis and threatened to treat them as terrorist groups. For his part, Bin Aziz threatened to use military force against those he described as saboteurs, vowing to deal with any escalation as Houthi.
These threats come at a time when Sultan Al-Arada is preparing to impose a new oil dose, as sources in the oil company reported that the new price of gasoline will reach eight thousand and five hundred riyals for twenty liters, instead of the previous price of three thousand riyals.
