That is one good looking fly. I’d imagine it would float like a cork with the deer and CDC. Good job.

I have come back to this Video several times since it was first posted to refresh my technique for tying what is in my opinion one of the best Elk hair Caddis versions for the Western slope states from the Black Hills of South Dakota to the west coast of Washington & Oregon and particularly the area from the Black Hills to the Eastern Slopes of Idaho and Montana this pattern is particularly effective for Native and stocked Trout especially Native Brown and Brookies when used with a dropper. This Lady tying them is a very talented fly maker herself and a real artist who has obviously studied insects that Trout of the Western US like to eat. I tie and use the Olive and Dunn version of this with great success when encountering picky fish that have been fished before. Thanks for this great video.

Hi Hanna: I love tying caddis trout love them. Your pattern caught my eye .I will tie them pu. Thanx Ken PS. I know by watching you tie, but I find using barber scissors (mine are 4" long) makes cutting CDC feather in a clip so much easier.Just saying.😊😊😊
