The last 3 episodes of The Mandalorian Season 2 are masterpieces imo. The return of Boba with his armor, an incredibly fantastic surprising performance from Bill Burr and we finally got Seismic Charges again, and of course the return of Luke, which was a million times better than the Sequels. Ahsoka started off so-so with the first 2 episodes, but then really started getting good with episode 3, and then incredible with episodes 4 and 5. Season 2 of The Mandalorian is still my favorite, but this is a very close 2nd, and we still have 3 episodes left. Either way, Filoni is the man and should be in charge going forward. I loved how this episode showed more of the fact that Ahsoka was sadly both a Jedi AND a child soldier. What’s more is that while while the Jedi were taught to not form attachments to people, she and her master clearly broke that rule and cared for not just their men but their friends and family. The difference is that while Anakin failed and fell to the Dark Side because he couldn’t let go of those he loved, Ahsoka succeeded and learned to let go and move on. After seeing Ahsoka having a moment of catharsis with her master, and letting go of her guilt and pain to more fully embrace the Light Side, Rosario Dawson now truly has become the Ahsoka we remember from Clone Wars! She has now truly risen and has now become tied with Luke Skywalker for me as the greatest Jedi of all time. This is also easily the best performance Hayden has ever given as Anakin, he actually felt more like Anakin from the Clone Wars than the movies. I honestly never thought I would see LIVE ACTION scenes of Clone Wars, or even Hayden in Anakin’s Clone Wars armor! And the final scene of him smiling at Ahsoka, god it melted my heart!

Anakin's entire point with this latest "lesson" was to help his padawan get over her trauma and her feelings of regret. There was no EGO involved whatsoever for him. It was all about Ahsoka. About helping her. Anakin wanted Ahsoka to face and then to defeat her demons. And that included defeating Anakin in his Vader persona. Because that's was what had traumatized Ahsoka the most. She blamed herself for leaving Anakin when he was the most vulnerable. People (not you) who see the "fight" and think that Ahsoka beat Anakin completely missed the point of what was happening. She was facing Vader. And Anakin was convinced that Ahsoka could beat someome that was only fueled by rage. And she did. And when she she did, Anakin (no longer Vader) smiled at her. She had defeated that demon. Just like he did with the help of Luke.

Like she FELT like the Ashoka that we have always known. That scene with the Purrgil was glorious. I think one of the biggest "shocks" is if you like when you look at Ahsoka, she was what 14 during the clone wars. Child Soldiers. Even if you didnt realise it at the time the subconcious did which is why it was a shock. It was different seeing it in real life compared to an animated series. But Anakin, you saw the conflict in how he was trying to teach her to survive. Sadly for that time it was the harsh reality. But, I think it was also showing her a different perspective. So that when Ahsoka refaces Sabine she rethinks how she will react. As I do not think how Ahsoka will reacte now is how she would have before this. Afterall Sabine in a way betrayed her. But it was great to see Hayden play his character how he should have been portrayed. And he took full advantage of his opportunity to do so.

I read that on a channel : The lesson was that Ahsoka is not part of a vile heritage. Until now, she has felt that her legacy is one of war and violence (as Baylan said), and her hesitation to train Sabine reflects this. Ahsoka decided not to kill Anakin's dark side (despite being brought closer to the dark side, see her eyes), it is her choice not to fuel this cycle. Every time young Ahsoka brought up violence/war, Anakin gave her more of it. When she mentioned that Anakin was dangerous, that's what he became, using the red saber. In the end, she had to let go of these thoughts, accept that she is part of a legacy with its good and bad sides. That yes Anakin turned to the dark side but that's not what should define HER. For me, that's Anakin's final lesson to complete his training: the past is the past and just because terrible things happened doesn't mean they'll happen again and there's no need to it defines her. In itself Yoda's last lesson to Luke . Beyond that, she was so worried about being everything Anakin was that she wasn't "herself." This is why she was so stoic and weird during the first half of the season (even in mando or boba), and why she was unbalanced against Baylan. Generally speaking, she overcomes her fear of attachment to Anakin. She blamed herself for her move to the dark side and she was afraid of following the same path. It threw her off balance. The lesson was to let go of that fear and attachment. It was literally shown to us with (Ahsoka's) Sith eyes.

A big reason I love these new shows is that we’re able to see how the First Order managed to rise. The New Republic is overly confident and blind to their shortcomings.

So pleased for you to get the same feeling of "we got you covered" that I had when Luke appeared in Mando. As someone who fell into Star Wars as a kid when it appeared in in 77, I appreciate we all bought in at different times, have different faves/initial hooks, but ultimately have the same addiction 😂 Maybe you can in hindsight appreciate those things suggested as "Fan Service" were just as special to others as you just got. May the force be with you dude ❤❤

Loved this more than I can express. Ahsoka at the end of this episode is the Ahsoka I've always hoped for. Truly Ahsoka the white now after fighting her biggest fear/demons. Think I had tears in my eyes any time Hayden was on screen.. and I nearly died when Rex showed up I mentioned on another channel how I've never felt so happy and validated as a clone wars and rebels fan after this episode

WO THINGS: FIRST, when Anakin destroys the bridge, reminds me of when Gandalf fell off the bridge in Kazad Dum. Ahsoka was fighting her Balrog. SECOND, the Vader style switch up was chefs kiss. Went from all the style and grace of form 5 to the pure overwhelming force he is when he is vader. Aggression. intimidation, no wasted movement, no flourishes, anything you do to survive makes you look weak. UHG, i yelled "SWITCH UP" when he came in low with his saber cus I KNEW Vader was about to bring it!

I love your reactions, especially this one for a truely special piece of Star Wars. You're talking so deeply passionate and emotional about all of this. I feel the same way about it and it's a deep part of my soul. And yes, thank you so much Dave Filoni ! You are redeeming the galaxy far, far away which we all hold so dear for decades and almost all of our lives. 🙏🏼

Thanks, Dave! George is certainly proud of you, as we are! And how great Hayden and his "Young Padawan" are in this. How emotional this was. I think George teached everything to Dave and he now has become the Master! This is how it always should have been!

"One is never too old to learn, snips". He was 45 when he died. Ahsoka is 47. To me, the lesson he was teaching her was the difference between surviving and living. It was the last lesson he learned, from Luke, when he was her age. From the moment he betrayed Ahsoka, she's been surviving, and her purpose, her conviction, gone. She's got no friends, family or companions around her, no attachment, just as a Jedi should be. But Ahsoka is no Jedi, and like Anakin said he's now passed on the final lesson he learned to her, even what he learned in his final moments. And then as he's smiling and remembering about his last lesson by Luke, she says, "I won't fight you" and he chuckles, because that's also what Luke said to him before that last fight. When his heart was full of rage and darkness that fight is what brought him back. So he turns on his lightsaber, and gets ready to pass that on to her. You live, truly live, or you die just like he did when he became Vader. Just surviving is as good as death. At least that's my take on it.

Ahsoka: "I won't fight you." Anakin: "I've heard that before." Yep, from his boy Luke, in Episode VI. What a great callback.

Ahsoka's transition to her 'white' version is quite bittersweet in a way since it shows what Anakin could have been if he never faltered to the Sith.

I absolutely LOVE how it’s ALL of Anakin. From the little boy on Tatooine to Vader to Anakin once again as Luke saved him. He’s every bit as fearsome and compassionate as he had ever been. His lesson is basically one way of portraying “don’t be like me” and it’s perfect.

Nobody hated Hayden Christiansen; it was the clunky dialogue written for him by George Lucas that was problematic. And for all their flaws, the Prequel films conveyed a coherent story arc that meshed well with the Original Trilogy. The same cannot be said about Disney's Sequel Trilogy films. So I would not hold my breath waiting for that Rey Palpatine appreciation renaissance. The Sequel Trilogy is, at best, merely tolerated, and more generally, at worst, loathed by most long-time Star Wars fans.

Goddamn...I watched this episode last knight and I don't think I've ever been so impressed by a single episode. Truly. It was perfectly paced, made perfect homage to the clone wars series, further redeemed Anakin's character in the story, and made the perfect resolution to the story thus far. I'm serious; I know there are more episodes, but if they had just ended the series right here...I'd be okay with it. You have triumph of wonder and adventure as a fleet is humbled and awed by greater things, the triumph of friendship and faith, and the triumph of remembering that the very best of you is still down there, deep inside. All while a soaring theme carries us into the light. goddamn....what a trip.

Very well said Skyman. Brilliant Star Wars, this was. Your interpretation of Anakin and Asokah’s training scenes is close to mine. Simply put, I put it like this: I think this is a version of the Mortis arc. Anakin in the WbW is what the prophecy claimed him to be: He brings balance to the Force. And in the WbW, he’s doing what the Son and the Daughter are doing… being the Balance. He’s taken over their duties because in the WbW he weilds both Light and Dark in tandem when providing guidance and lessons to whomever visits him in the WbW. He is now the ultimate Force Ghost now, being in Balance and guiding & instructing visitors in the WbW as they come. I. Freaking. Love. It.

All those little surprises and Easter Eggs.....! Don't know if anyone noticed, but that music when Ahsoka talked to Anakin in the Mandalor scene is almost like the last scene of Clonewars season 7! when Vader visits the crash site and finds Ahsoka her lightsaeber! ... it's so perfect! And when during the fight he says, "You lack conviction" it's a mix of his Anakin and Vader Voice... And the music with the Purrgil moving past the fleet preparing to jump into hyperspace... It's the same as when Ezra is about to go with the Purrgil... ....My man Dave Filoni just keeps on giving to the fans.

My view of the sequences was that Anakin was telling her she needed to learn beyond and push past the mistakes of his teachings. The lines about it being a Jedi's job to lead but that not meaning they don't make mistakes he was also applying to himself. His ultimatum of "Live or die" shifts entirely when we understand he is saying to follow his lessons of violence is actually the death - and that pushing through to choose a different path is quintessentially the Jedi choice of life. If she follows his teaching that not fighting means death, she'll fail and it will kill not only others but ultimately her and everything light in her. She has to find the answer in herself to understand it, but rejecting those teachings for a more enlightened way is her true lesson. It's great too to see Anakin's reaction at the end, because there's an element of pride in him for her being ultimately better than he was at his worst. It's a real dad moment.

I think Jacen is meant to be Ezra's Padawan. No offense to Ahsoka or anything but, Kanan trained Ezra so, it's natural that Hera would want her son to be trained by the man who was trained by Jacen's Father, Kanan.

The part where Kid Ahsoka was holding hands with the injured clone and it looked like she was on the verge of tears hurt me something fierce. Ahsoka with all the knowledge she accumulated over the years was thrusted back to her beginnings. Just how many men did she lose by the time the clone war ended? She's just left there with whatever regret remained, hopeless to change the outcome of those who served alongside her.

Every reactor i've seen is so busy fanning out or asking "what is happening?" when they cut back to the ocean from the initial Ahsoka/Anakin duel that they don't hear the brilliant sound design of the lightsaber crashes and the waves crashing blended together. Was the audio version of the transition they showed at the end of episode 4 when they first showed her in the World Between Worlds. These last few episodes have really been great, and it's the craft and pacing of them as well, not just the nostalgia and call backs.

Hayden deserves everything for carrying this show, everything he touches is golden, it’s emotive because it’s him, the character, the person himself, people simply see his whole life story everytime hes on screen. Same as when you saw Qui-gon at end of OBIWAN, its emotive and best thing in the show. I just hope one day soon to see a live action clone wars but maybe thats asking to much with the current leadership inability to see whats beloved and whats not.

Hayden is just amazing with saber fight. It is like an extension of his arm. Also, this impacted me emotionally a lot, too. Transported me back to my childhood and yes, it made me sad, whole scene. From the moment Anakin pulled his lightsaber, with Battle of Heroes OST hinted in background music my heart stopped and the only reason I have not teared up is because tears doesn't come easy to me. I am not fan of the rest of this show but this episode is incredible. More Hayden please.

About how Anakin is in the present is because that place that Anakin is in, is called The World Between Worlds, it's a pocket between space and time where time don't exist and the force is very strong there, so it's the force that made Anakin appeared based on Ahsoka's insecurities, of how she blames herself for leaving him and the Jedi Order and for feeling responsible for him indirectly becoming Vader. So the force essentially helped her to overcome these insecurities and at the same time she is fighting to save her life, that's why she choose to live. Also in the World between Worlds, you can go back to anytime you wish and revisit anytime however yes you can alter the past, but it has consequences.

Ahsoka is dead at that moment but has a chance to return, Anakin says it is a good thing she remembers the fight she had cause it means she still has a grasp over her ego, her personality and memories, it is needed in order to revive her, that she stays ..."linked"... and the thing that would prevent her from returning is her regrets or trauma that subconsciously would make her not want to return to the living world, which is why he puts her through that to strengthen her will to live
