She goes to google, then does an unimaginable move to quit her job in 2023, and then super surprisingly possibly got an even more high paying remote job. Cut to me who is barely scraping by in my own tech job, putting a hold on my dreams, as I recover from my mental illness. I'm living in a ghost town of a city, so that might be why.

Well, chin up, mate. First off, we don't know that her life is all blooming roses, either. Secondly, please keep plugging away. Embrace grit. And remember that letting injustices eat away at us is a surefire obstacle to success.

Take a sabbatical to take care of yourself. Each of us only lives well when we are authentic; true to who we are as an individual. Yes, a life style change comes with a sabbatical, but that is one of the beautiful aspects of taking time for yourself.

@@markupshaw Thank you for replying but I don't want to do that again. I ended up in a bad job market, last time I took it, and I ended up with mediocre salary with bad work life which is my current job.

Loved this candid interview 🙌😊 There is definitely a lot of fear-mongering around AI, and the only thing I see is that everyone is using all the tools on the planet. They don't think critically anymore, and juniors don't develop problem-solving skills anymore. So yes, AI will eventually do it unless we start to value real human skills again, instead of just pushing buttons and participating in fear-mongering 😅

Totally feel the same about remote working. I started reading between lines sooo much, I didn't know it was the same for other people too 😄 Interesting chat!

One of the takeaways for me from this conversation was that getting exposure remote work is important because unless you know someone who does remote work or have done it yourself, you won’t know what you’re missing out on 🥲

At the moment I'm working freelance job for which you literally need solid knowledge of English and an IQ above 100 and AI is nowhere near to take over my job. Let that sink in.

@@hank6754Dude, chatGPT was launched 9 months ago. It had several upgrades since than. For all of that time I'm working job for which you need 0 tech skills. You literally need to know English, to follow 10 rules and not to be stupid. I'm still doing my job after all of this AI revolution and no one in company is mentioning AI.

I have the same outlook/goals as Delia (digital nomad/futurist/retiring early) but I think her vision is a bit too optimistic. 😅 It's unlikely that anything resembling chips storage (similar to San Junipero) is going to happen even in the next 50 years. The issue with job automation is that developed countries already have the enough resources. In comparison, even low paid remote/upwork jobs are a major source of income for developing countries. As AI improves, most mundane tech tasks are going to be automated leaving a ton of competition for the remaining jobs. There are far fewer complexities (both human and technical) in a data analyst role than a data scientist one for example. Lastly, it's simply hard to get hired at US rates for a remote role while living in an underdeveloped/developing country.

If LLMs need prompt to do the work. Lacking prior knowledge or work experience how would an individual prompts a LLM for task completion? Perhaps, as your guest suggested, by 2045 our empty minds will unify into a collective consciousness, potentially rendering prompts unnecessary for LLMs.
