There's a delivery company in london called "supper" which made the odd decision to buy a bunch of old honda gyros, 3 wheel with a roof like this too. I'm sure they were cheap to get but surely the maintenance on such aging machines would be so much more than this... I'm in a trial a big grocery company is doing for fast delivery, but more substantial sized orders than getir zapp etc. Vans take usually 6-10 orders, cargo pedelecs, that I'm on, 3-5, but they also have askolls that can only take a single order most of the time which seems silly. Something like this with a big box could take 3 I imagine, and give the riders who are out in all weathers some respite too. I suppose as it's a trial they won't invest too much but vehicles like this look like the way forward in the long term

Thanks Bert. The video doesnt mention all of the more well known additional advantages of electric based transport like 1p/mile vs ~4p on petrol, lower maintenance costs etc. If you would like to have a look at this bike for yourselves or supper, am happy to help

I like scooters with this level of weather protection, wouldn't it be great if Silence could make a variant of the S1 with a roof bit like a BMW C1.

Interestingly, the Italian-turned-Chinese roofed scooter company Adiva built a tilting 3-wheeler with a roof back in 2016, but it was 250cc petrol rather than electric and 2 wheels at the front rather than the rear. The roof was also a 'targa top' that could be folded into the boot, like those of the original Benelli Adivas of the early noughties.

Silence had the S03 way back in 2018 but they dropped it. No roof but it was on the plan
