RIP to our Island logging railway, WFP did not do right by it, and it was their neglect that led to the terrible tragedy that gave WFP the perfect excuse to abandon rail operations.

Great video of when the railroad was in operation. Neat to see how they unload the trucks onto the rail cars, and then lift the trailers onto the truck cabs. Thanks for sharing.

I watched this line as well a,d videoed it also. Such nostalgia it has now become. I assume that if the loss of those workmen had not died, then we might all be still enjoying this show.

DIL and son's house was right at Ground Zero for the Accident. She helped a bit there and son was at Beaver Cove running the other crew speeder. And I was waiting in the yard until the crummy came in from BC because nobody was allowed near the site after they got enough hands there and they hadn't told me if it was my kid or not by the time I got back to the yard.

Chris City, my apologies, yes I know the lettering is on the locomotive. My only excuse is after listening to all the employees talking CanFor this and Canfor that for 6 hours, I slipped up in the description.

no need to apologize, I was just pointing it out just for accuracy. It still is unofficially Canfor, that name still lives on on a lot of the MOW equipment and on buildings and structures. Even the back-up locomotive is still in full Canfor livery with logo intact. It really is a special railway and I was terribly saddened with the news this week, I was there last weekend and couldn't believe what had happened to that small community.
