I agree. Aim > movement, but aim + movement is ideal.

Aiming is definitely a basic skill compared to wall jumping and supergliding in apex. I'm a day one player but have yet to learn any of those weird tricks, and it has changed nothing. I'm a strong believer that movement matters, but in apex the term "movement" has lost it's meaning from purposeful positioning and planning streamlined getaways into just random ass tricks youtubers tell you to milk the topic and make 15 more videos. If you say "learn movement" to anyone they'll immediately think "Oh, I really need to practice my pixel perfect wall jumps and bind jump to mousewheel!".. No, that's just called exploiting the spaghetti game engine apex's is built on in a skillful manner. Yet it's mostly useless apart from looking cool and tricking a newbie if they don't know what that trick does. To learn movement is to not be scared of ring at round 1 and then to not push teams outside the zone at round 4; to learn movement is to be able to rotate and defend any point in a POI incase of a push or ring movement; to learn movement is to not stand still whilst looting, to strafe when fighting and so on. When you put it as simple as that, it becomes clear that movement is as important of a basic skill as aim

What you're thinking of is commonly termed as rotating or game sense. Movement is commonly agreed upon to refer to the player moving their character. So the skill ceiling for movement does involve learning these tricks to get better. But I still agree with you that movement mostly amounts to flashy tricks except for a few situations. Which is why I really like the popular streamers who like to be flashy with their movement since it's much more entertaining to watch for me compared to someone who may focus more on aim and positioning.

I think you're getting map rotation/positioning confused with movement. Movement is how well/fast/smooth you can move your character

I disagree. Movement is much more important because it has the ability to make the act of aiming much easier. Nick (just type in "nick kovaaks") is the best strafe aimers in the world. He has mastered diagonal movement and mirror/anti mirror to minimize enemies perceived movement on his screen which makes his aiming much easier. Faye (the best well rounded movement player in the world) does an extremely great job at both making his shots easier to hit and making the enemy have a hard time hitting their shots. The entire idea with movement is making yourself move more on the enemy screen than the enemy moves for you while maintaining proper strafe aim when it makes sense. If you are aiming long range for example with just aim you would have to adjust for enemies movement through aim and end up moving your arm a lot more/making your job much harder than you would if you minimized his perceived movement with anti diagonals. Movement makes aiming just so much easier and the best aimers (vF cookie, vF Owen, Faye, etc) if you watch closely rely on movement to an extreme degree. If you have the best strafe aim you wont need the best aim to hit all your shots, if you have the best aim but bad movement you will miss a lot more shots than you would if you just made it easier on yourself. Now I get you were talking about apex specific movement tech (superglides) but movement you need to understand is a blanket term that covers everything in the entire umbrella. And hey there might be times where superglides make the duel much easier. But dont write off movement as a whole.

idk where to start. First off it's really not that deep, bullets kill movement doesn't, simple as that. Secondly, none of those players even play Apex? Lol

@@CloverWzy The movement concepts apply to most games if not better in apex. Its not like it only works in Apex. Movement doesn't kill directly but does indirectly. Someone setting themselves up for easier shots not matter how good/bad their aim is wins 9 times out of 10 compared to someone with the best aim but setting themselves up for harder shots. Someone with the best dodge will win the duel because they are taking less damage. It is not a hard concept to grasp. I mean its like saying, "since most tacticals in Apex dont kill they are not worth using". Kangoon and Hachi are examples in Apex where most of their aim is anti mirror smoothing. 70% of their aim is movement. Quake players realized how much movement makes up your aim years ago and this isn't a concept that only applies to one fps. It applies everywhere and is even more emphasized in BR's due to the movement being faster compared to most other fps games. I listed those non Apex players because they came to mind but that doesn't mean their movement cant be applied to any other game. I am trying to demonstrate to you that movement and aim are inseparable and that movement plays a bigger role in your aim than actual raw mouse control.

Movement isn’t very useful till you can hit your shots out of a wall jump or superglides
