Strolling around London on Saturday, and saw the Air Ambulance leaving from Trafalgar square... quite cool. Was dropping off and picking up paramedics... silly pedestrian jumping the lights...
We dont realize how lucky we are to have such great talented people navigate these machines ,caring for people and being so professional. ..

A lot of funding for the London Air Ambulances comes from the Loindon Freemasons charity , they are fundraising now towards the new helicopters

They have to invent a helicopter that takes off in less than a minute.

Helicopters basically already can.. The helicopter can take off as soon as engines are up to power, which isn't long. What takes so long is the safety and pre-flight checks. There's usually no rush to get off the ground once the incident is dealt with, so they should and do take their time making sure the take-off and subsequent flight is as safe as it can be. No good having a helicopter that can instantly take-off if it just crashes 3 seconds in to flight.

No doubt there was a good reason for the helicopter to be idling there.
