@@SSGTStrykerI encourage you to actually study the HG manuals. Nobody in the 4 official ceremonial units of the United States armed forces pivot on the ball of their foot for facing movements for ceremonial drill. Ceremonial/Honor Guard drill is far different than basic military drill.

@@carsonstephens2508 Still a different manual. I suspect the one from this video is older, but the current Honor Guard Regulation is AFMAN 34-515, not this AFI.

Ozwald Byrd the current HG manual is written in guidance with AFI 34-501 anyway, so it may have been an honest mistake by the uploader. Especially since AFI 34-501 is the basics and the HG manual is the elaboration of said basics.

If you are going to do these videos make sure all the manuals are 100%. At 40 seconds in you have a weapon that isn't toed. Just reshoot until it is 100%. I want to use these for my JROTC cadets that I work with, but if I send them here I can't stress about getting the rifle at their toe if you don't either. Good start guys but make sure these are spot on and just shoot until it is. Look forward to seeing more from this unit.

David Carnahan why are you teaching JROTC cadets ceremonial drill?

It is 100%, you can’t possibly toe perfectly every time. You are literally criticizing the USAF ceremonial squadron on how to do drill lol.

@@justawaheelawithinternetac1035 I’m well aware about JROTC drill teams, considering I was the commander of mine along with being the battalion drill master 😂. There’s no reason whatsoever for cadets to be taught ceremonial drill, especially because they’re not authorized to. The only drill they can do is regulation or exhibition.

From one guard to another you are right the rifle butt needs to be towed if you do not hit the mark you can move it a couple inches to put it in the right place without anybody noticing very sloppy I was in the guard from 68 to 72 I see you use the same M1 rifle handsome ceremonies make the video 100% correct shoot it over again

@@justawaheelawithinternetac1035 As a cadet in my AFJROTC unit, we can't do type of ceremonial drill based off of what the AF does theirs on. Armed Ceremonial Drill is different from Armed Regulation and Armed Exhibition drill. Armed Regulation I think is what you are referring to is just doing basic movements with rifles and being able to march around with rifles. Armed Exhibition would be close to ceremonial, but really its just showing off rifle spinning moves and stuff like that not like stuff to represent the unit. The closest thing that we do ceremonial wise would be our color guard and saber teams, however, we cannot use Air Force commands. For example, to put the rifle man at right shoulder as well as the flags in a the harness, AF Honor Guard would called "Right Shoulders, Arms". The actual AFJROTC command would be "Carry, Colors", it's really strange and I'm not entirely sure why we can't copy AF Honor Guard directly and someone hopefully may have an answer for me. But, TLDR armed ceremonial drill is a little bit different from what we do at a JROTC level.
