Was on the fence about buying one of these and now I regret having waited so long. This thing is perfect for small rooms like my home office or rooms facing the sun

This product might be exactly what I've been looking for to move warm air in the hallway from our wood burner into our bedrooms

installed it today ( in the floor) in a big master bedroom which is far away from furnace and always cold. Have 3 vents in that bedroom. I can see already tht the vent with Airtap is delivering much more hot air than the other two.

I have almost a 3 story home, finished attic, basement but only 1 hvac system from the house. These did great for the room above the garage and attic. Don’t understand the cold and hot setting. I just put the fan on 8-10 depending on how hot it is out.

The hot and cold settings are there to make it more efficient. When the ac is on, your ducts are much much cooler inside. The fan already has a gauge for the temperature inside the duct. Setting the temp for the cold, for example, will turn on the fans once the air inside the duct reaches that temp. When the AC turns off, the air inside the duct is still cold, so the fans will continue to suck that cold air out until it gets too hot and reaches that set temperature and turn off. Wait in between cycles to see what the base temperature inside the duct is, then set the cool settings 2-3 degrees below that. You want to get as much of that sitting cold air as you can when the AC’s off. Basically it’s waiting until the air inside the ducts gets cold enough to turn on and it will turn off once the air inside the ducts gets too hot. Apply the same logic to the heat settings.

Thank you for this! I’m in a rental and there is one room that is like a sauna! I had been looking at something like this on Amazon but wasn’t sure it was worth it.

I'd also see if there's a source of heat that you can adjust - like a window you can put white-lined curtains on, or even an outside wall that's heated by the sun (reflective boarding)

@@BliffleSplick thanks for the advice. We definitely keep the blinds closed all the time but I have thought maybe some curtains as well might help. I did end up purchasing this register. It’s not life changing but it helps a little. They really need to make it where you can change the direction of air flow like the normal ones though.

These are indeed useful. But if you have a restriction in your duct work its best to just clean it out. With clean ducts combined with these fans you'll have much better results.

i wish isnt run by that power cord. im not sure how else you would power it but aesthetically it would not look great to run a power cord from the ceiling (where the air vent is in my house) into the floor where it would be plugged in.

I am facing the same issue. I wonder this booster works like a fan itself, not actually sucking or boost the air from the actual ventilation system air filtered.

Question: are there options for grills that do the opposite of this? As in create negative pressure in the room (push it back vs suck it in)? I have some vents that I've tried to block off to no avail and the A/C is not reaching the areas that need it the most.

You could buy this unit then just flip the direction of the fans

I've seen magnetic vent covers on Amazon if you're looking for complete blockage of the vent. Haven't tried them myself, so I can't rate their effectiveness.

Get your ducts cleaned out or have in line booster fans installed.
