@@BARTSHARPAirbrush hi i getting a similar compressor with 3L airtank; with regard to the airbrush working pressure. once it is set, if i use the spring below the air filter to release water and air inside; will the psi gauge drop to 0 so that i can unscrew the knot below the airtank to release the moisture inside then do i need to re-setup the working pressure again?
@BARTSHARPAirbrush

@@leomr1504 If you press the spring air/water release pin you will only lose all of the air (from the tank) if you keep the spring pressed in. You won't need to reset the working air pressure after using the moisture release spring on the AFR. You only need to use the AFR spring if there is a visible build up of water within the clear section of the AFR. The brass dial, under the air tank, should be used frequently to drain any water build up in the air tank (you don't need to overtighten as the inner part should have a small o-ring which forms an airtight seal. Over tightening can cause the o-ring to compress or become damaged). Hope this helps and happy spraying!

I'm having a problem with my airbrush hose connecting to the air pressure regulator. The airbrush hose can only screw on about 2-3 rotations before it's completely finger tight. Because of this, if the hose is pulled even slightly, the metal sleeve of the hose end gets loose and I start to have an air leak. Sorry if I'm not describing the parts very well. I'm still pretty new to airbrushing.
@BARTSHARPAirbrush
6 күн бұрын
it sounds like the inner thread of your hose is either damaged or incompatible with the thread of the pressure regulator air out connector. The air hose connector should screw on without resistance and you may have crossed the threads. It may be worth simply spending a few £ / $ and buying a new airbrush air hose. The most common thread type is BSP (British Standard Pipe). Good luck.

When I turn the knob to reduce PSI, I can reduce the pressure and it eventually does start hissing and letting air out, however, no air goes to my airbrush. Unless I turn the dial fully clockwise and to max pressure, it won't work. Everything is tight, but for some reason if I set the pressure at all using that inline regulator it stops working. So I have a very similar air pressure regulator if not the exact one and I've been air brushing for a couple years and I noticed recently that air is leaking from the hole that is inside of the triangle by the gauge (2:05) I noticed that if I reduced the pressure to below 40 psi it starts to leak out of that hole and the air tank won't get filled up. I'm not sure why this happened, if its normal, or how to fix it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

@BARTSHARPAirbrush

Hi, The hole inside the triangle is an emergency vent. Unfortunately the air pressure regulators wear over time and it might just be worth buying a new one. Constant leaking will mean that the compressor won't get up to pressure and will continually run which will cause the compressor to overheat and cut off. Luckily the air pressure regulators are quite inexpensive and easy to swap out. Hope this helps and thank you for your comment.

I just invested on my first airbrush compressor. It looks similar to yours. I got it working and have used it for about 2 weeks. Everything seems to be fine so far. But do you have any advice on what to do AFTER I'm done using it? I ask because the first time I finished, I left it with pressure in the tank, but when I come back the next day, the tank is totally empty. I've listened carefully and I hear no leaks, so I wonder if this is just the way it works, or if I should look out for something. Another channel recommends that I empty the tank after each session to reduce stress and moisture buildup in the tank and I've done that. I guess I'm still curious. Thank you in advance if you decided to drop by my comment, and thank you for your very informative video. Cheers.

It sounds like you have a small ait leak if tank drops pressure overnight. Best to empty tank after use as you have been advised and also drain the tank regularly to remove water build up. There should be a small brass drain valve on the bottom of the tank. Happy spraying!

It's good practice to empty your tank when you have finished your airbrushing session. Sounds like you have a very small air leak which doesn't affect normal use but, over an extended period of time, will allow the tank to empty.

Hi Stuart, if you have followed the set up process, shown in the video, and your compressor doesn't kick in until below your working air pressure then you may have a faulty pressure regulator or faulty solenoid on the compressor. The solenoid identifies when the compressor should start/stop based on reserve pressure in the tank. We have replacement pressure regulators and compressor solenoids in stock. Email us at info@bartsharpairbrush.co.uk if you need to order either of these items. Thanks.

Hi, it depends on what pressure you are running it at and if there are any short breaks between spraying. Compressing air produces heat so the compressor unit gets hot and has a thermal safety cut off switch. To extend spraying time you could try using a desk fan to cool the compressor unit. : )

Also, does pressing the nozzle on the bottom of the regulator release all of the moisture? I’m not trying to blow myself up here.

Pressing the water release pin will allow collected water to be ejected. You can also unscrew the clear section so that it can be rinsed and left to dry if needed. You will struggle to blow compressed air on the filter medium if you have unscrewed the clear section to gain access as you won't get an air supply to your airbrush. You would either need another source of compressed air or have to remove the air filter and then connect the airbrush and air hose directly to the compressor oair outlet.
