Love your scientific method of testing various batches to determine what works best for your climate. Looking forward to seeing your findings. Wishing you and your family a blessed week. Peace

Thanks! It's a challenge getting it to turn out right but we are learning. We have some samples ready to be tested once they have a little more time to cure. 😊🏠

Thanks! Yes, a wall around the garden will be really nice, and it's a great way to practice making our house walls. The garden wall has been my plan for awhile, but originally it was going to be made of rammed earth, so an aircrete wall will be interesting. I think it will be pretty strong once we get it plastered. 😄

Way cool. MyLittleHomestead had issues with their first foaming agent and switched from one type of soap (or detergent) to a different brand and had great success keeping everything else the same. So might want to keep that in mind if the foam's density is an issue.

Thanks so much! Yes, we are using Drexel which we hear is the best. We had some issues with keeping the pressure right for the foam, but are getting it figured out. So stay tuned for our first aircrete test batches, it's been interesting. 😊

What is the connection between pump and air compressor inside the foam generator, is it just a Te connection?

Can i make the normal aircreat mixture, in an eletric concrete mixer, or is it possible to mixture the foam with pré made concrete in order to mixture the foam in the end. I will make the calculations, because i will build a "normal" shape, and i'm pondering make the walls of air creat and maybe not bricks, and how good this material deal with water infiltrations and how good it is as a insulante material ? Of course the strutural part of the house would still being made by normal, stell-concrete mixture. And by observation the exterior would receive a one inch cover of basalt rocks.

You could make some test batches and try it. We found aircrete to be quite finicky and unpredictable. We suspect that the cold overall temperatures and cold water in the Drexel foam solution made our last batches turn our brittle. In the end we decided it wasn't worth the risk to use it to build our house.

@@RedandAprilOff-Grid Well, i'm going to built it in a subtropical climate so i truly don't know, how this is going to go, well i have of course other options for good insulation walls also. I don't know about the costs also tho. But what do you think about putting also in the aircrete mix shredded polystyrene also for giving it more free mass and increasing the fisical strength. I don't know i probably will do some batchs for test like you guys said, also i was probably not going to make blocks for after use if i'm going to use it, but yes i'm going to fill the whole wall with it in layers, probably also going to put like lines of wire inside of it to giving like an skeleton. And finishing in the outside with local rocks and the inside with plasterboards, and putting all the eletrical and water components beside the black water system outside of the wall in a very rustic way. This way also would be much easier to fix any problem who could appear.

And of course i was not also looking for a strong material at all, just something who could be rather stable, be used as an insulation material in itself, because i was really looking for doing it with the strutural bars made of nice good normal concret and steel, but of course this would need to be minimum resistent, on your tests what was the total of mass the foam increased the aircreat ?

@@henrytozarini2369 Not a lot is known about the long-term durability of aircrete, so we decided we didn't really trust it for our house. We were planning to use a metal frame for structural support, and reinforce the poured aircrete walls with rebar, wire mesh, fiberglass mesh and stucco, but we still had some concerns that it could eventually crumble inside the walls from temperature changes or wind. Once we ran the numbers for our particular design, it turned out to be just as expensive or possibly more expensive than traditional construction. Some people have seemed to have success with aircrete though, so I don't want to discourage you. Best wishes on your build, whatever you decide to do. 🙂

Reallly appreciate your approach to the test phase and the attention to detail!! Did you consider the honeydo foam kit? I assume he is still selling them but I know he is really focused on developing his new land and maybe hasn't had time make them. If you did consider it and chose the dragon kit over that one, would you maybe explain why in your next video?

It will be nice to get it fenced, the wall should really help to keep critters out. It will also help with wind and I can plant some things up close to the wall for protection, and we need to practice making big batches of aircrete anyway. 😊

I am interested about aircrete and it’s application. It looks complicated to set up. I’m glad to see the good use of the extra to build a garden wall. Javelinas can be vicious. Here in Phoenix, a woman walking her two dogs were attacked by them and one dog was killed and she was bitten on the leg. I’ve seen one from a distance and do not want to get closer! Please be safe.

It definitely takes some work to round up all the supplies just to get started, & trying to get the batches to turn out right is even harder, but we are starting to get the hang of it. We haven't seen any javalina out here yet, but have seen their tracks. They typically won't hurt you, buy all wild animals can be unpredictable. I'll probably show the bobcat we got on the game camera in the next video. 😊🏠
