The most amazing fact about the Mk.2 was that it accelerated from launchpad to the speed of sound within it's own lenght - ! 😮

I remember being given this as a reward for being brave at the doctor's, must have been around 1969.... Made it a second time in the 70s when it was included with the Hercules. Yes, the kit is older than me, just! I think it went together quite well, although I'm sure my painting left a lot to be desired.

I had hands on with this one. I was based at RAF North Coates, with 25 (SAM) Squadron Bloodhound Mk2 in 1968/9

I have one of these kits half built somewhere, I must dig it out and finish it. My dear mum also bought my first one around 1969 from woolies, happy days.

I built one of these when I was a nipper, didn't have the luxury of paint, as my Dad said I'd make too much mess ☹ I think I might just get one now. Thanks for the review. Cheers Bob 👍

In 1963 part of my job (in the RAF) was setting up the BH MK II course at RAF Newton. I requested some Models as training aids. Request denied, outline a build details are classified. they sent me six Airfix kits ????

Yes, I also remember slapping this one together in the late 60s or early 70s. Built and painted in a day or so. Those were the days.

Built this as a kid and will probably do so again soon. Really like the presentation of this Alex - different feel to other kit reviews out there

I have fond memories of this kit. My version accompanied Airfixes RAF Lockheed Hercules kit in Middle East camouflage (custard and cr*p). The little Land Rover was of course the only 1/72 / 1/76 of its kind. I used in several other dioramas alongside airfixes Scorpion and Chieftan Tank. Fond memories. Thank you!

This takes me back - about 50 years back. I vaguely remember putting it together badly & making an even worse job of the paint. & enjoying every second of it even though my modelling tools consisted of 'liberated' nail files, razor blades & Stanley blades. Cut myself to ribbons until I cottoned on to the trick of wrapping the part of the blade I was holding with Sellotape. I'll stop now before I get to the whole 'Jumpers for Goalposts' Rose-tinted rubbish. Thanks for the memories & keep generating interesting content - there are far too many people on KZitem who it seems are here because they like the sound of their own voice. I hope all's well with the shop & I wish you every success.

A real blast from my modelling past. I will have to get one and build it just for the pure nostalgia.

I love these types of ‘Flying Machines’. Missiles and rockets. Manned and un-manned. Sixty-some year-old kit….hmmm, guess I won’t be finding it at any local hobby shops 😒
