My figures must be a similar age! I was lucky to be given the fort. Built and painted by Donald Skinner. Thank you for your comment

Ancient Britons were amongst my favourite "enemies", no matter if against Romans or Washington's Army or Foreign Legion! :)

That’s a shame, it might get rereleased at some stage. They were accomplished builders. We don’t seem to match the Victorian builders either

@@grahamhurst4613 The two kits were versatile. I would use the two Roman huts along with the individual farmhouse buildings to play street fighting battles.

These figures are indeed ancient they have survived from the 1970’s. The Waterloo sets are out there and there will be a fort Sahara. The fort is done I need to paint some figures to go with it

Wish the Sherwood castle was still in production - Got to make a castle for a knights and knaves set as an xmas pressie for a youngster but battlements are tedious! They are definitely 'toy' forts but a lot of youngsters have had a lot of pleasure playing with them (and they serve well enough for wargames).

How have you managed to stop the paint from flaking off the soft flexible Airfix plastic
@grahamhurst4613
Жыл бұрын
The answer is I didn’t, they have been repainted. The answer is good bases for less handling I think. If you look at the Waterloo video you can see bare plastic on the muskets

The trick is to base the figs; handle only by the bases; store in trays/boxes (not just chucked in any old box); when painted, finish with a coat of varnish for added protection (I prefer a satin spray varnish, so you don't possibly damage your paintwork using a brushed varnish)

I’m guessing it may have been too much trouble! Was building a wall easier? All that spiky hair and woad must have had an effect. Thanks for watching
