Thanks Ton, good tips! Just got my escape today and it's AWESOME. Simple, elegant construction but massive power. I didn't want to buy another rifle but I went to the weapon store with my friend and there I saw the Texan, I was intrigued by it's simple yet elegant design. Later when finding out it existed in a small caliber too, I was sold. Just a perfect rifle!

With these powerful rifles, how do you control valve/hammer bounce using such powerful hammer springs al heaps of preload? I'd appreciate an answer on this one, thanks

That why I zeroed it at 700 yards! ( a MOAB Cold shot is needed for that distance). Nothing shoots better than the Texan .457 I got the SS . Of all my rifles it's the only one hitting targets past 725 yards and with power for longer shots. In four years shooting it , I've never had any problems with it. Even after upgrading to the TX2 valve and CF cylinder. I wish there was a TX2 valve for the .308.

I must have a dud. Mine won't hit an 8" circle at 50 yards

@TrappingTheMitten-JohnHowell what's your air source? For accuracy you need the same constant pressure, do you tether or refill every few shots?

@@carlosugarte1450 I refill to 3000 after every 3 shots. I'm planning to get a tether tank but not sure what to do about the accuracy. I've decided to contact tech support on Monday

@TrappingTheMitten-JohnHowell I would strongly recommend a 9 L tank and an externally adjusted regulator to get a steady 3200 psi pressure and try the 240 grain Nielsen slugs to start . I know it's an investment but you will be able to refill any airgun you have at the required pressures. You will never be able to shoot any large caliber airgun accurately without enough air supply for repeated results.

@@carlosugarte1450 thank you for the advice, I have been shooting the the NSA 265 and 290 HP/FT, 350 HP/RBT, 196 HP/ Concave Bottom (don't know what that is called), and Benjamin 279 FT/FB (best results) Any advice on a regulator?

Pumped 3000psi into my ss tank on my AirForce pcp and blew out the pressure seal. Where do I find instructions for repair? Thanks

I love the AirForce line up, the symplicity and the power it puts out, but I'm not the first to say this . . . 2023 and still dove tail, really? I mainly u prism scopes 12x50 and they are 100% level on each air gun but as soon as I start building these contraptions on the AirForce, it's a few degrees off. Even with the more expensive 11mm/dove tail to picatinny and weaver adapters. This means losening al the screws of the prism scope mount and level it again. Putting it back on a picatinny or weaver mount means doing the same process over. Also the adapter adds Unnecessary height and makes the air rifle even more top heavy and prone to tilt. From an air gun purist perspective like yourself, I don't understand why you still use the 11mm rail unless it's a "cost" thing. I can imagine that milling a dove tail in the longitudinal direction of the frame is much cheaper and faster then milling the slots perpendicular on the frame, I get that. But this should never be the reason why to stick with an inferior mounting option. People are buying FX-es, Leshiy 2s, AGTs, Skouts, Daystates etc. Guns that are much more expensive, some are even double the price. Adding a picatinny rail and an "optional" regulator from the factory would maybe add another 250 bucks, but this also means you are still cheaper then your competition, you are still AirFirce made in the US. And I think people wouldn't have a problem with spending a bit more so they can add their favorite mounts directly to the air gun. Why a regulator option from factory? Well, not everyone likes to dump straight from the bottle. Therefore making it an option from the factory like "TalonP and TalonPR" or "Texan and TexanR". Where R stands for regulated. And yes I know there are good 3th party options like the Altaros regulator unit. Point is, altering your gun and adding a regulator means voiding your life time warranty right? But it's that kinda warranty that makes this gun so desirable. So why making a gun where tuning it and making it shoot better, almost always voids that warranty?
