IN THIS VIDEO:
Hello everyone! Welcome to this video! Here we are at Airshow London 2017 for some Friday Arrivals, the practice and later on the Hour of Power. I headed up there at 0700hrs with a few friends and it did not disappoint at all.
First arrival in was AUSSIE636, a RAAF Airbus A330-200MRTT that flew into Toronto Pearson Int'l on Wednesday to drop off the Australian Invictus Games team, who was also invited to come to London for static for the weekend. It did a few passes for us before coming in and parking on the show grounds.
Next two aircraft are the L-29 Delfin and the American Skyvan, the Delfin who was doing regular flights and the Skyvan who was dropping the CAF Skyhawks.
Next you'll see the USN F-35C Lightning II taxiing to show grounds off the hot ramp to be showcased as static to a group of school students around, same with the USAF F-22 Raptor.
Next the practice started, which I filmed bits and parts of since I more interested in filming the actual show itself, however the practice consisted of the USN F/A-18F Super Hornet Demo Team, Randy Ball's MiG-17PF Demo, Pete McLeod's aerobatics, Jerry Connely's de Havilland Vampire demo with a heritage flight involving the RCAF CF-18 Hornet Demo Team and then their own short practice routine, interestingly, not the full one.
As for the next arrivals, then everything came in all at once. First was a USN E-2C Hawkeye as GREYHAWK62. Then GRAYHAWK 36 with a USN C-2 Greyhound. Then BANE26 and 27 came in with two USAF A-10 Thunderbolt II's followed by TORCH31, a USAF C-130 Hercules.
As soon as the Hercules parked, I heard some communication on my scanner and I alerted by friends ahead that JAZZ1 and JAZZ2- 2x USAF F-15 Eagle's were coming and they flew over the field and did some awesome low approaches right out of the blue. They were supposed to come at 1700hrs for the start of the Hour of Power but I guess they came early this time.
2x RCAF CF-18 Hornets also departed at that time as CLAW1 off of RWY 15 while a RCAF Gonzo, GRIZZLY18 landed right before them.
Then, COASTGUARD 3208 called in, the Ocean Sentry, which was interesting since we all thought all the coast guards bailed but luckily, this one showed up.
Last two arrivals were the USN E-6 Mercury, ROUGH1 which did a few touch and go's before landing and BISON5, the RCAF C-17 Globemaster.
That's all for now everyone! More to come soon!
