In this video, you'll find an overview of the Ajax FireProtect 2 devices, including the design, key features, what sets them apart, and why these sensors are among the best you can get in the current market.
Ajax carries a variety of FireProtect 2 devices which include alarms for carbon monoxide, heat and smoke. Within these variants, are options for sealed batteries, replaceable batteries, and AC mains powered.
These are wireless with a communication distance of up to one thousand 700 metres and can be configured to run with all other Ajax devices via the app. When an alarm is triggered, it will notify the app. Users will then know exactly which device was triggered along with when and where it happened.
All Ajax FireProtects can alert if at least one of the detectors registers an alarm. Battery-powered FireProtect’s can either support interconnection via the hub or detector to detector but not both at the same time. AC mains-powered FireProtects can support both interconnections simultaneously.
The design of course conforms to Ajax’s typical modern and sleek aesthetics. All alarms are available in black and white and feature a large user-friendly function button to silence the alarm and activate self-testing. Gone are the days of trying to locate that small fiddly button found in a lot of other devices.
They include LED lights, red to indicate an alarm, yellow to indicate any faults, and green to indicate when everything is okay.
If your device has a combination of sensors i.e. heat, smoke, and carbon monoxide then a different sound will alert for each threat.
What’s great about these devices is they don’t require regular cleaning as there is 0% possibility of contamination through dust or insects, keeping maintenance work to a minimal.
Ajax offer different versions of the FireProtect2 which include, smoke, heat, carbon monoxide, or various combinations of the three.
The smoke versions include a dual-spectrum optical sensor that can quickly detect particle sizes allowing the device to distinguish smoke from steam or vapor.
The heat versions include two class A1R thermistors to detect a rapid temperature rise when synthetic materials burn or when a fire starts from smouldering allowing for quick detection.
The carbon monoxide versions can detect a low concentration level of just 50ppm which is before the first signs of poisoning occur.
The installation process is straightforward. Simply install the smart bracket and click the devise in place. Scanning the QR code will quickly add this device to the Ajax app.
