Really enjoying this segment! It's cool that you took voice lessons with Mary Zimmer; she really helped me improve my vocals! Also, I think Nolly's mixing advice has definitely helped; your mix for the latest album is so good! Here's the question I posted in the last episode - Did you learn anything from your time with Architects that you're now applying to Sylosis? Could be anything from production, certain techniques, marketing strategies, or just helpful advice.

Josh in the breakdown at like 1:50 of To Build A Tomb, what is that chirp from, is it just from you picking like a Savage? I fucking love it, I think it sounds so savage

Yeah, I'd like to know as well. It happens at 1:05 in Dormant Heart too. When I heard it for the first time in To Build A Tomb I didn't like the chirp, but it has grown on me.

I remember my friend pointing out to me when the album dropped and I was like “nah I can’t hear it” until I listened properly. Can’t unhear it now haha. I like it though I think it sounds more raw and real

Hi Josh, huge fan here since around 2012. I started the Sylosis subreddit a while back for fun and was wondering if you've ever stopped by and had a look. Can't wait to see what's next from the band

Hey Josh, long time sylosis fan here. Since conclusion of an age, I have listened to sylosis on my commute to and from work, there is no other band that gets me as pumped as you guys. Wondering if you have any plans to come to Perth Australia anytime soon?

Had being in Architects influenced your writing process for A Sign of Things to Come? Cuz I could definitely hear some signature Architects moments in the album, both vocals and guitars.

Lot of mentions of the AJFA album, which I'm very happy to hear (has a permanent place in my heart too). What's your musical highlight from the album? Did you get to chat with Het when you supported Metallica? A conversation with him is on my bucket list!

Love the AJFA influences in some Sylosis songs, definitely one of my all time favorite albums. I would love listening to After Lifeless Years back to back with To Live Is to Die. So I got to ask If ever given the chance would Sylosis do a full album cover or a specific song from the album?

Love these videos and the behind the scenes. Is there a possibility of ever doing a JM-II with an evertune? I know the tonality would be a tad different but the utility would be killer.

Awesome video! What would you say is the hardest Sylosis song? I’m currently learning kingdom of soltitude and I find the fast trem-picking, downpicking and gallopping right hand stuff pretty difficult.

9:15 Rectifiers can definitely be hard to dial in. You absolutely need a really tight Overdrive. A Fortin 33 style super tight OD actually sounds better on a Rectifier than on other amps IMO because it removes so much low end that gets filled out by the amp’s huge low end

@@broganward4210 you’re right. Now that I looked again, that whole album is actually listed “all songs written by Sylosis”. I asked my question I guess because the most recent few albums I looked at had them all credited to Josh so I wondered to what extent the other members contribute 😂

Do you still use emgs in any of your guitars and what in your opinion make the fishmans better? I feel like emgs have been pretty much demonized over the past few years even though in my opinion, they’re very versatile and solid pickups.
