It works even better when you record hot output of MPC3000 into S3000. Sometimes the difference is unbelievable, mid-hi tones could sound strangely bloomy / creamy.

@@vubeatz i know there both great samplers that you mention and each actually have there vibe for sure. I found my s1000 for a good price on local market even with gotek. id add that its also very easy to operate/sample etc. i had the 950, which had a great power to it. but the s1000 is something else and on screen options are better

@@vubeatzFSOL “Lifeforms” is the sound of s1000. The bass response is much deeper than s900/960 and the highs are hazy and smooth. “Dead Skin Cells” by FSOL is a good example, as far as I remember the sound of the one I’ve had.

Are the rack samplers difficult to learn if you can use the Mpc? Someone in my neighborhood is currently selling his S3000i for 90 euros. 8 outputs, technically perfect, visually very good. The brightness of the display has decreased. I would like to combine the Rack Sampler with my Native Maschinen Plus and use it especially for the drums
@vubeatz

if you want to pass samples through rack sampler - 10 minutes of learning. But If You want to trim drums, assign to keygroups and then work with them with maschine+ as midi controller - it depends on what type of beatmaker You are. If You value the outcome, beat instead the process itself - I would pass.

I had a TX16W, there's definitely a bit of a learning curve but once you get comfortable with it you can get pretty fast with it. I would still rather have a drum machine/workstation tho, it's just easier to work with. TX16W crunches up drums nicely tho

Yes, I was trying some sp1200 impulses, sound was ok and interesting but my beatmaking is about the trip, not the final results. Like this video. The most fun part was finding the best settings for resampling to achieve nice ring but don't overdo it.

I really want to get one of these akai samplers, but I fear it would be too cumbersome to use and then I'd just get lazy and use my MPC live. Do you think it's plausible to sample a lot of vinyl through it or just something for special occasions

Mpc live is great combo with S3000. Check this video where I show how to use autosampler feature with beat made on hardware sampler and the record every sample to work on MPC then (in video there was akai force but it’s basically the same like MPC live) kzitem.info/news/bejne/s2mcmZ5to3ViiWUsi=DNLOk-P9WSmLSaZX
