This is an interesting blend of Naha techniques. It’s almost like Hangetsu at one point. That’s why I love Seisan. It defies the idea of belonging to a single style of Okinawan Karate.

Seisan is Hangetsu. Seisan is like the okinawans called Hangetsu, isn't it? Best regards.

@ correct. Fundamentally it’s the same. However, Funakoshi developed it so it’s got its own flavor that makes it distinctive. I believe it’s got a little bit of each family contained within. It’s a tribute to all the Seisan katas if you will.

@@Jameskeith1972 I agree with your point of view. Very wise of you. Thanks for the information. Best regards.

This is the version that has the most resemblance with Hangetsu and there are theories that Kyudokan Seisan (as seen here) and Shotokan Hangetsu is from the same linage. 🥋

It's older then Okinawan karate. In a way ide say it's the origin. Worth digging into the Chinese arts for it. It's southern Luohan Quan. Start there and enjoy yourself.

Trained this one form since the year 2000. I've modified over the years and made it mine. Learned multiple versions. Including the Chinese version. I train northern Shaolin now. But I keep Seisan and naifanchi. I have unorthodox interpretations for Seisan. But I find it to be a very practical system.

So after all, everything is written in the description for the video! What else do you want to know?

Your description has only told me surface level information. Who trained the master of this dojo?

@@Seifukusensei I believe all of this information is available through Google, it's not a massive school though so you might have to look a little deeper than usual! :)

@@Seifukusensei Akamine Hiroshi Sensei, my teacher, trained under his father and also Gushiken Sensei. Gushiken Sensei was a student of Choshin Chibana Sensei. I hope that helps.
