In this vlog I just wanted to revisit Akathisia. Reason being that I still deal with it from time to time. So I felt like it was worth bringing up again. So I go on to explain Akathisia to those of you who don't know what it is and why it's so promblematic. It is one of the worst feelings you can get. It is a very strong feeling of restlessness and makes you feel like you need to keep moving around. Now when I first was told I have Akathisia I was prescribed a medication called Cogentin which helped combat the feelings of Akathisia. But, I'm not sure if I built up a tolerance to the Cogentin because the Akathisia hasn't completely gone away. I experience it mostly when I'm trying to go to sleep. Which is extremely frustrating. It's not as bad during the day, I do get fidgety but it's not like it is at night. The feeling to keep moving my arms and my legs can be unbearable at times. Thankfully, at some point I am able to fall asleep. Usually, when I take my night time meds, I fall asleep within the hour but the nights I experience Akathisia I'm up 2 or 3 hours after I took my meds.
So anyhow, I go on to tlak about ways the alleviate the Akathisia. Like how I'm going to start forcing myself to workout again. I should have never stopped working out when I was younger. It's tough right now though because I have been super depressed and lacking the motivation necessary to workout. I will really have to just force myself to do it.
I hope that this vlog has been of some help to those of you out there experiencing Akathisia. If not for nothing, I ope I at least educated some people on it and could have been of some help.
