PS: Those who are saying culture is just an idea, badly need to follow Jaipur Dialogues and their thoughts on "Idea of India cannot be bigger than India" 😂. Culture is not just a thing, you need to move with your whole Kunba just because you don't have Arab culture with you, if Arab culture is in majority; and if you don't need to move despite having culture "different" from your neighbor then both of you are Hindu (this stmt is for giving a broader idea of situation)! 2. I wonder why the person questioning doesn’t see the difference between an offspring of an invader vs a democratic leader. Most important thing to note here is, some countries like America are geographical countries defined by the land borders. India was always a civilizational nation. It became a geographical border nation only in 1947. You can become the citizen of a geographical nation by following the laws of its borders. You become the citizen of a civilizational nation only by become a part of its civilization and culture.

India is not thousands of years old and has only ever been a united state for a brief period in the regions history namely under the rule of King Ashoka, prior to that and after his rule ended, the region has been divided into independent kingdoms often in conflict with one another. The region was again united into a single state under the rule of the Mughals and upon their decline the Marathas and Sikhs carved their own states which lasted until the British occupation which is when the name India was introduced.

I think even if you use a little bit of common sense calling a conqueror a invader is at the least very dumb as this was how countries were created in those days moreover if someone thinks Akbar was promoting one culture he might be very wrong as we should know most of the mughal rulers was not very observant muslims and we see with Akbars din I ilahi and a lot of other things that they use to do that were not remotely close to the religion and he was trying to mix Indian culture with central Asian culture which is totally fine

I think you people need to learn to differentiate between political unity and civilizational or cultural unity....political unity comes and goes cultural unity continues there is starking difference between how a European or a Egyptian lived or a Arabian lived and a Bhartiya lived that makes us different civilizations problem with muslims in order to not admit their culture is a foreign culture they try to argue that Bharat has no culture to begin with and hence their culture should not be called as a foreign culture which negates the continuous culture of this land for 1000s of years and hence you people are seen as outsiders and will be continued to seen as that unless you change

#AskAbhijit Sir the Haplogroup H which is found in india predominantly and less in europe, isn't it true that there are two types H1 and H2, H2 is what was dominant in europe 10,000 years ago and was destroyed by yamnaya invasion while H1 remains intact, so doesn't this destroy aryan migration. To rub salt into the wounds the H2 Haplogroup originated in the steppe region

@adityakumarpandey2608 "Indian culture means, arts, Language, Philosophy, these things need to be promoted." All of these flourished under Akbar. Major events from Sanskrit epics like Mahabharat and Ramayan were illustrated in great detail by royal painters. You can simply google and see several of these miniature paintings. He gifted his own mother a richly illustrated copy of the Ramayan, the book is still present in the Doha Museum of Art, Qatar. Indian Classical Music flourished under Tansen, with the development of new ragas. All major Sanskrit epics were translated into Persian. The library at Fatehpur Sikri had over 24,000 books in several languages including Sanskrit. Traditional Sanskrit education was promoted for Hindus, with schools being opened all over the Empire. Tulsidas Ji wrote the Ramcharitmanas during Akbar's reign only. The six schools of Indian philosophy - Yoga, Sankhya, Mimansa etc - are described in great detail in Akbarnama itself. Religious/philosophical debates were regularly held in the Ibadat Khana. Hindu rituals like tuladaan, festivals like Holi/Diwali, even hawans/poojas were introduced in the Royal Court. The city of Vrindavan, as we know it today, was revived and rebuilt on the orders of Akbar, after his extensive discussions with the Bhakti saints. The Kashi Vishwanath Temple was also rebuilt under his patronage, so were several new temples like the Govind Deo Temple in Mathura. The Golden Temple, Amritsar, stands on land donated by Akbar. He himself became a vegetarian sun-worshipper in later life, drinking water only from the Ganga! What else is "promotion of Indian culture", according to you?

Stamp out Indian culture? What nonsense!!!!! Yes, he was outsider (father Turk, mother Farsi). Yes, Persian and Turki were his languages. But he did not stamp out any Indian culture. He promoted them (Kathak (the Muslim version), Urdu, Biryani, Jadau jewellery, Mughal style architecture being some examples). Yes, a lot of inter mingling of cultures happened. Indian and Persian cultures coalesced and an Indo-Saracenic culture developed. Yes, I agree that native Indian culture was the less visible one here, but it was there definitely. For that not to happen (at least not in that manner), we Indians should have had the sense to UNITE and fight the outsider, which happened ONLY under Gandhi. Even the 1857 the first war of independence/sepoy mutiny, was an uncoordinated revolt. Also, Akbar was not simply fighting inside India 'to stamp out Indian culture' - yes, he was ambitious and was keen on furthering his empire and, in doing so, he ended up uniting India as well. He also fought battles against Pathans (read Muslims) of Bengal and Bihar and fought Uzbeks (read Muslims) in the north western frontiers of India. The stories you guys weave... your prejudice!!! Stop reading in black and white terms. There's a lot of grey shades there. Aurangzeb was an absolute ass - on that, I am with you. But Akbar?
@baansurii

Adding to your list - he also built temples (like the Govind Deo Temple, Mathura), got Sanskrit epics translated into Persian, hosted religious debates, introduced Hindu rituals and festivals in the Mughal court. I would say he did a lot to promote Indian culture - the present city of Vrindavan was literally revived and rebuilt on his orders, Sanskrit education flourished with schools being opened for all, the library he built had over 20,000 volumes in several languages, and his own biography details the beliefs of all the six schools of Indian philosophy - native Indian culture was pretty visible, in my opinion. Also, the fact that Akbar was constantly dragged through the mud by the Islamic orthodoxy of his time for being "too Hindu" and a "danger to Islam", all because of his syncretism! Source being the Muntakhab-ut-Tawarikh by Badauni, Akbar's courtier and fierce critic of his religious policy. Ironic how he was, and still is, hated by extremists of both religions.

In this case I want to oppose you because first of all not only akbar and his ancestors and heirs also a lots of indian dynasty like Chola, Gupta, Gurjar Pratihar even the Mauryans fought with Indian states but this doesn't mean that they weren't Indians they are Indians. And secondly why did you tell that akbar tried deploy his culture?? He tried to introduce a new religion 'Din E Ilahi' about what I think, this is a kind of code of conduct like Ashoka's 'Dhamma'. What do you think about this, Sir Abhijit Chavda??

According to present law in India , a foreigner can acquire Indian citezenship if he has resided in India for at least 12 years. This is known as citezenship by naturalization. Still you are claiming a person to be an invader even though he was born in India, he died in India , he accepted India as his home and spent his whole life of 63 years in India. You are a very knowledgeable person but your this statement is completely biased.

Initially Akbar was a Ghazi but with experience he transformed into a Kaafir. He promoted Indian culture and that is the reason why he was called Kaafir by muslim scholars. He banned cow slaughter. He worshipped Ganges and Sun ☀️ god. He was a vegetarian. He allowed his wife Harkai Bai to follow Hinduism. His close friends were Birbal and Abul Fazal who were liberal minds of that period. He choose Khusrau Mirza as his successor over religious fanatic Jahangir. He founded new religion called Din i illah e that was a blasphemy in Islam. He issued Ram Sita coins. Out of nine navaratnas, four were hindus. He built many hindu temples for Mariam Ul zamani. He was a Ghazi in early phase of his life and he murdered 30,000 unharmed combatants after the fall of Chittoor. But later he commissioned Statues to honour great rajput warrior Jaimal Rathore and Patta Sisodia, heroes of Siege of Chittoor in his Kaafir phase. He also built a temple for this great warriors. He married of his daughter to hindu musician Tarsan
