2013 Akibastrip definitely felt like a soft reboot then a sequel. Also if anyone's looking for a physical release for the PS4 Play Asia got you covered

I actually still have this loaded on my PS3, I really need to go back and play all the way through it. Yes, I still have my PS3 hooked up to my main living room TV. xD I'm honestly kinda glad games like this are getting a more fair appreciation now. I know the game got pretty unfairly roasted when it was new

I have one loaded up too, I just have to Bluetooth my PS5 controller to it every time that always seems like too much of a hassle 😅 And me too! It’s interesting what years can do to reception of a game :3 glad to see people appreciating it now ^__^

I preordered this when I heard it was coming out! I really enjoyed this back on the vita, so I was very excited when I heard about its remaster. Overall, my thoughts were mostly similar to yours. It is a pretty solid and decent non-serious JRPG experience indeed. On the bug side of things though, I have played over 40 hours on the Switch version but have not encountered any. Yours should have been a rare case, I believe. For me, one plus point I gotta add is how this game doesn't need high investment (of energy or time), so it feels easy to pick up and play in between doing other busy stuff. As of now, I managed to clear Rin's route on my 1st Switch playthrough and am in the midst of trying for Kati's route!

Something I want to point out is that Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed Director's Cut is slightly censored compared to the original version, the game doesn't use the word ''trap'' anymore on Pitter and a specific dialogue (for example) was changed to ''you're not fooling anybody, okay?'' If that mild censorship or detail doesn't bother you, the Switch version should be a great way to play the game, and the new DLC is also available for PS4 and PC.

I did not know about this at all (and I’m sure others didn’t either), thank you for sharing! Won’t bother me, but I know different levels of censorship can be a big issue to some, so good to know 👍🏻

Nice review! I'll stick to getting this one on PS4 as I have the other games also on PS4. That bug thing though must've sucked though 😕

It was more a surprise than anything else after it had been otherwise pretty smooth. Thank goodness it had auto save 😅😊

I always thought Akiba’s Beat looked very cool (even if it looked pretty similar to Digimon Cyber Sleuth)! If I finish this, hopefully I can play that someday too :))

@@JRPGJungle I think too many people just dismissed it as a Persona Clone. The only thing I didnt like was the NPC’s or lack thereof. Only important ones actually are drawn, everyone else os just a silhouette and that is on the map and in cut scenes.

Odd question here watching the gameplay. Can you get run over by a car? Just curious.

Haha I like that question. I don't think you can (not that I've tried); most of the roads seem to just be load screens :3

i'm confused is this game out or not? i saw special edition unboxings in april of Akiba's Trip Director's Cut and you can buy in only on xseed site, yet 1sep retail got Akiba's Trip 2: Director's Cut. It's same cover but is it same game? Or just asia got diffrent name?

That is a good question. It's supposed to have been out from August 1st; I know in Japan it's referred to as Akiba's Trip 2. Akiba's Trip 1 and 2 have different characters, so I would maybe use those as a guide? If they mention Kati, it's likely the correct release :3 also the PS4 and Steam content came out via DLC, Switch should be the only standalone release for this. I hope that helps :3

I saw on Steam this has a nudity tag, is that legit? I wouldn't want to play this in front of minors accidentally

I haven’t seen full, although there is a move that makes white light appear over body parts, so I’d say it’s definitely implied. Personally, even with just the under garment flying stuff, this is not the kind of game I’d play in front of my brother when he was little so yeah haha
