We know Nigeria is a lawless country. But the fact that a judge is doing this to a lawyer is very sad. But I'm pretty sure it's not just about what he said. there's something behind the anger of the judge

Corrupt tyrants in the temple of justice. Well this can only happen in a lawless environment. Suggesting that armed police men should be outside the court room to improve fair hearing and remove intimidation is in order. I suggest the judge be sued or reported officially to NJC, the judge should be replaced in this case in the interest of justice while NJC investigates the lawyers claims.

As much as I tried to refrain myself from this issue, secure my pen in my pocket and keep my hands by my sides, but posterity won't let me do it. I'm not a legal counsel and I know little to nothing about that profession but, as a security professional, if the account of that young and enthusiastic lawyer is true as stated, that judge hasn't done well at all and she has rubbished the sanctity of legal profession. It's a shame on Nigeria Judicial System. A judge send her learned fellow to prison because he exercised his fundamental human right where he was currently representing his client is highly ridiculous. Let the truth be told. EIejo re'lé, agbejoro re lo ewon. Bad reference is made. I see what she did as abuse of power and misuse of office. That young lawyer felt intimidated by the presence of the two armed police men in the court. He was later humiliated by same police men at the order of same judge who had earlier ordered a journalist out of court room. Common mehn. How can a reasonable person be convinced that this maltreatment was not premeditated. Tell me a sane country where the presence of armed law enforcement officers are required during proceeding of a civil lawsuit? Some people say the judge has power of life and death so, she can do and undo. I totally disagree. As to who holds the power to life and death, it is ONLY God. He writes our names with pencil and he has the eraser. The Lord God is sovereign over life and death. Gen. Oladipo Diya and President Olusegun Obasanjo were convicted and sentenced to death by Military Tribunal equivalent to a court of law. Currently, both men are not in prison. They're still alive hale and hearty enjoying life with their families over two decades after their conviction. Where is Gen. Sani Abacha, their accuser? I'll like to end my opinion with this Yoruba phrase in my Ibadan dialect: "B'á'a d'ájó daada, Olohun a tun da. B'á'à bá d'ájó daada, Olohun a tun da. Olohun oba nikan soso loni'dajo ododo" Esan si n be ti o gb'oogun. "We will not remember the evils done to us by our enemies but, the silence of the righteous " - Martin Luther King Jr

The judges and magistrates were once lawyers, so they started their dirty practice then. These lawyers are a part of the problem of Nigeria. They worst than even the Nigeria police. Dirty, stinking corrupt, involved in all forms of shady, illegal actions, most times conniving with the same people they criticise for money.
