What a pleasant surprise Milazzo has been with the stick this year. Dude looks like a completely different hitter. You can see the confidence he has when he steps in the box. Not to mention how phenomenal of a bunter he is. I really hope he gets a hold of one before the year is over.

As an LSU fan, I agree. The bullpen needs to step up big time. Especially because LSU is scoring less runs per game recently. We definitely did have the the potential but then Thatcher Hurd was not even close to what we expected and we suffered a couple of injuries from key pitchers. It looks like the two previous comments are from fans that are just full of pride and very big egos. So I ask you, and be completely honest with yourself. Do you think LSU can win a CWS Championship with the bullpen that they have right now?
@kajun9059
Жыл бұрын
@@sophieschweiger8802 I agree it absolutely could be better, way better. Losing Taylor was the big one. Forced us into having to put Hurd in that #3 spot which he obviously wasn’t ready for. I think he is a completely different pitcher if he wasn’t forced into that role. The stuff & potential is there, I truly think it’s mental with him at this point. Edwards & Shores hurt too, but more Edwards bc he was balling out. Still, I think we can with what we have. It’ll just be way tougher.

They have the best pitcher in the country and a few really good hitters but that's about it. They don't have a whole lot of quality pitching depth behind Skenes and that's probably gonna end up being their downfall in the postseason. 2021 Arkansas and 2022 Tennessee would easily beat this team

I’ll keep defending LSU name against casual college baseball fans(even tho their not my team), but it’s getting pretty hard to do that as of recent. It’s obvious that their offense carry’s them every game. If Skenes didn’t exist, LSU would at best be a top 20-15 team. Their rotation of starters are average at best and their bullpen is basically one or two guys u can kinda of depend on (mainly being Guidry). If the offense doesn’t show up, the team doesn’t show up

@@aonaran-2028 wasn’t the point of what I was saying, but I understand it. All I’m saying is crews, white, Thompson, Morgan, and dugas are what mainly makes LSU a great team offensively. They have so much talent, that even if two of the those guys have off nights, the other guys will pick up the slack, it’s a bonus if the rest the lineup hits (which they usually do), and if the pitching staff does their job. Having Skenes as their ace is overkill. It’s expected that he racks up 10 k’s a night, and goes a least 6-7 innings with minimal damage done
@knug0529

Also look around the conference tonight… LSU is the best team in college baseball. Even with a hurt bullpen guys have stepped up. It’s not alway pretty but they’re college kids not every outing is gonna be spectacular. You won the game that’s all that matters in baseball, in the MLB it doesn’t matter what it looks like as long as you win. Some of these people just like to hate bc they’re not playing they’re best ball right now, which is true. But they’re still winning so honestly that makes me even more excited with their potential.

I am a hardcore LSU fan but sadly I realize that if it wasn’t for 2 players on this team ( Crews and White ) LSU would go from being one of the best teams in the SEC to one of the worst. Also the fact that teams quickly run up Skenes pitch count makes it difficult for him to make it past the 6th inning. Which isn’t bad for a starting pitcher but with the rest of the bullpen average at best, the quick high pitch count will become crucial in the postseason. LSU relievers kind of fell apart late in the game. If it wasn’t for the Alabama pitching beating themselves with all of the walks then LSU very well could have been fighting for their lives in the bottom of the 9th. They are winning, which is the most important part but if they keep playing like this they wont make it deep into the postseason. Hopefully they can get red hot at the end of the season going into the sec tournament. Geaux tigers. Thanks Wheels for posting.

Bruh if you take off the two best players from any team of course it's gonna make them significantly worse
@sophieschweiger8802
Жыл бұрын
@@BandNerdcp You’re correct. I was more saying that the rest of the team needs to be more productive, take this game for example. LSU scored 8 runs. 5 of those runs were actually off of hits. 3 of the runs were given by walks and a hit batter by Alabama pitching. Of those 5 runs off hits, White and Crews accounted for 4 of them. A sac bunt got the other run in. There were LSU batters with the chance to drive runs in but they were unsuccessful. Another example. LSU last week against Ole Miss, the first 2 games LSU scored 15 runs. 10 of those 15 runs Crews and White were responsible for. My point is that yes, your best players should have the greatest impact but you shouldn’t be relying on them to win you games.

Over the last 8 games LSU is averaging 7.1 runs per game. Over the same 8 games LSU is giving up 6.5 runs per game. Winning by an average of 0.6 runs per game to unranked teams. Yeah that’s definitely a stat from a championship caliber team right there.

They sat at # 3 in the country in runs per game (9.9) and # 7 in WHIP (1.25) before last nights game. Seems pretty damn good to me. They lose two midweek games and the sky is falling. Lawd.
@daltonad661
Жыл бұрын
@@kajun9059I’m not debating that. My point is that LSU offensive production and overall performance has been declining. Their first 3 SEC series they scored an average of 9.4 rpg. The last 2 weeks it’s down to 7.1 rpg. In those first 3 sec series LSU gave up 5 rpg. The last 2 weeks they gave up an average of 6.5 rpg. Also they have 12 errors in the last 10 games. (Should have been more) The first 10 games in sec play they committed 7 errors. The numbers don’t lie. It’s getting towards the end of the regular season. They should be getting better but they are not. That is my point. Not necessarily the wins and losses.
