Why the Critics pan it? The cinema is SO EXPENSIVE - I would have loved this moment in the cinema with my Mum, My Apologies to you - Guy Ritchie - it is a beautiful mesmerising film, in the best way that I cant forget - another beautiful possible world X

I love the whole instrumental and dance really! The instrumental is really mix of my whole preference and the dance really fits the instrumental or the whole compose of the song! I love how Aladdin was just having a time of his life while dancing after some minutes he got use to it. And I love how Jasmine fits in well with the instrumental. Aladdin was supposedly to be a Chinese story about a lazy boy in China who was at home most of the time but I love how Disney made Aladdin a much more productive and more inclusivity to other cultures as well. The movie is well executed from songs, dance, acting. I LOVE THE ALADDIN CAST AND EVERYONE WHO WERE IN THE PRODUCTION!

This is my take. Agrabah was supposed to have its own culture that mixed Asian and Middle Eastern cultures into one. So it has elements of both Indian and Arabic dance choreography in the dance as well. You've also got to remember that you have actors in this who are of Egyptian, Arabic, Iranian, Tusinian and Indian descent. They're multicultural, therefore it's best to reflect that in the film as well.

Hi everyone! I study Kathak (Indian classical dance). The reason why people potentially perceive this choreography as Indian is possibly due to some cultural markers. They frequently use the Anjali Mudra (Namaste pose) throughout the choreography. Moreover, they also greet each other with an Adab pose (e.g. 0:50) which is an Indian muslim greeting. The belly dancing (raqs sharqi) on the other hand is mostly associated with Arab/Middle Eastern culture. Apart from this, the choreography is mostly culturally ambiguous and therefore Orientalist (i.e. western construct of the East).

Literally just noticed that the music playing while they’re dancing is kinda a mixed mashup of Speechless and the deleted song Dessert Moon that didn’t make it into the movie that’s kinda cool 😁❤️

@@janekof to be blunt I have middle eastern family and Indian friends. I also have friends from different cultures including northern Africa and Pacific islands. I also love hip hop. While the dance is not traditional of one culture there are moves that mimic certain cultures and hip hop. I also dance. Btw white people aren't just American they live all over the world and have traditional culture dances
