The reason for no Housing Available; is from Foreign Investors who purchase entire Apartment Complexes and High Rise Buildings… they are left Vacant … so these Foreigners can have Tax Loopholes for their Investments. This is what needs to change with Legislation against these Foreign Investment Schemes. Also need to add to the Infrastructure Legislation about building Low Cost Homes and Apartments for People. Even if they created those “Small Home Communities “; it would help immensely. @VB-bk1lh
14 күн бұрын
@@rosesmith6208 The property owner's taxes have probably increased over the years far more than the rate increase. Lots of owners sell their rental properties because they are no longer profitable or the cost of ownership has exceeded what the rent brings in. I'm not in CA and renting a boat slip here costs far more than $1000 month. Those are 1970's rates at best. If that house was on land, the taxes alone would be more than $1000/mo. I live in a 900sq/ft house that's no where near water and my taxes are $1200/mo, plus another $650/mo for utilities and insurance. They announced a month ago that they're pushing for a 30% increase in taxes to keep up with the rising cost of city services. They've hired 100 new officers to police the flood of illegals living here lately. Taxes are what's going to bankrupt most Americans. You can't have $15/hr min. wage and not have it trickle down and raise the cost of everything. Noting was gained by the drastic increase in min. wage. Now everyone that can find work is working for min. wage, very few jobs pay more. There's no room for advancement and now even $15/hr is not enough. With all it did to the economy, most were better off making $7/hr 6 years ago then they are now making $15/hr today. Min. wage doubled but prices and taxes have tripled and better paying jobs went away. Keep voting in more Dems and we'll all be living on the street eating bugs while they give our money away overseas for schemes that pad their pockets.

Actually my electric has gone up very little. Where I see the difference is in food and insurance cost. Cost increases for products have settled down. But prices would be a lot higher if Biden did not do what he did to lower gas prices. In fact 2 summer ago Finland gas price was $13.00 a gallon and Austrailia was pay $12.00 (US dollars) for a head of cabbage. But a lot of thing went up because just when manufacting shut down in China during Covid was when Trump put a 25% sales tax on eveeything sent to a USA company and would be sold in USA store. Temu and companies sell directly were except. Then China the biggest manufacturer in the world basically shut down all their factories due to covid and now 80% of their factories are closed and they're all going to other countries. Well that means all that manufacturing has shut down and there goes a shortage of goods and when they're shorts of goods prices go up. Meanwhile maybe your income has not gone up but the average American Income has gone up about 19% however that usually does not apply to those on the bottom. But I have been in like 8 recession in my life and when I was in college interest was like 15% for a loan for a home. Then we had the energy crisis which change the car industry to us getting tons of Japanese cars due to lot better gas milage the the boats people use to drive and got 5 miles a gallon. Even speed was lessen to 55 max across the country to save gas. Well that was 40 years ago and people waste gas a resource more then ever. The fact anyone would waste money on bottle water and $7.00 cups of coffee is insane.

People who have lived there their entire lives are being forced to move out bc they can't afford ANYTHING! It is expensive to put your house 15ft in the air and with land st 100k/acre who can afford that anymore? And when I say this is a tiny town I mean there is one gas station and one little grocery store with not a very big or very good selection, and one DG. I've actually had to ask one of my clients before if I could get a couple bucks of gas from his water gas tank for the boat just so I couldn't make it back into town. But these investors won't stop buying up every blade of grass and crumble of dirt there that they can! Then guess what happens question mark the market is way oversaturated with s Tr's and they don't rent out they sit vacant meaning no cleaners make money the town doesn't make much money because there's people not able to live there in those homes And everyone loses. @@kristincollins5468if you live in a duplex, check if any of your unit is connected to joint systems. I've worked in utilities. You'd be surprised how many renters find they're paying for their neighbors. Flip off all your breakers on your box and check if it turns off anything used outside your own unit. Most states I've heard of make that (especially without disclosing it) illegal though not all do. Anyone I ever saw spending that much on a bill had a huge house or something wrong.

Corporations don't care. They get fined, they pay it and move on with life as if nothing happened. It is just a business cost to them. Welcome to capitalism.

When the marina came up for sale, the tenants should have bought it. That way you controlled the rent and everything else.

Where would you find that information? I was on all sorts of real-estate sites trying to find a new home. Not once did I see my apartment come up for sale. There must be an exclusive real-estate business site for those types if transactions.

Buying a houseboat and paying rent on a slip is the furthest thing from a proper mortgage on a respectable free standing home. People claim they have all these rights to property when they don’t actually own it. Good luck.

This is average behavior of right-wing leech landlord takeovers. They want easy money so double the rent immediately. Many areas don't have rent hike protect from these predatory right-wing landlord leeches. Further they always say they are going to bring vast improvements but rarely do.

Yeah that rent increase thing is a real problem here in Tucson. Tucson used to be known for its low cost of leaving including reasonable rents. Thirty years ago I got tired of the every six month increase so bought a cheap acre out in the desert and started to live off grid. I haven't paid rent or a mortgage in 28 years only property tax. Now the city has grown up around me and has become a desired location to live. It's a beautiful community.

I lost my home in the same way- I had a bedsit in London I’d lived in for 15 years on housing benefit (I’m autistic), then one month the landlord wanted to put the rent up by 150%. I was homeless for a couple years, now I have a van. Gentrification is awful, and landlords are greedy.

The landlord has the right to charge whatever they want. They own the marina. Dont like the cost, move. Its no different then renting an apartment. Enough people leave an cost the landlord money, rent will drop.

This is why I became homeless in 2023. I was homeless for 6 months. Luckily I tried to plan ahead and so it wasn't as harsh as it could have been. it was still nerve-racking and definitely a change of life. I'm in a really nice place now, I love it and I'm working on getting my own home. I fully understand what these people are going through. how dare these people come in and just arbitrarily Jack the rates up!! thinking they've got a cash cow.
