Every couple comes to a time - usually more than once - where it would be easy to say, "forget it" and bail on the marriage. But understanding that the marriage is more important than the issues, brings you to a place where the relationship not only doesn't fail, but it transcends to a different level. Yes, pre-high school sweetheart (she was 12, I was 13 when we first became a couple) and 3 daughters. 42 years. She is my only and I am her only (and I wouldn't have it any other way).

Absolutely agree. This song will never get old. I have listened to it 100 times or more over the last couple of weeks. I just finished reading his wifes book "its all about him", and while reading it she mentioned this song, I had heard it numerous times before, but knowing why he wrote it and the love they have, the ups and downs of their marriage brings new meaning, and heart to this song for me as I go through my own ups and downs in my marriage

I love his voice, his kindness. He's a true person. Hard to find. I've been writing songs because of his love for music and I am a very quiet lady but when I write it's a story of life. Music is like writing a book. It's like a secret. And maybe one day it's a surprise.

This song now makes me think about my previous daddy and mother. My daddy has dementia and can no longer “Remember When” . I scanned photos from their first date in 1959 to present. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last December. We played the slide show while they danced the first dance. My daddy didn’t know where he was but somehow the photos moved him and he talked about it for nearly a week. Music is so powerful. Thank you Alan Jackson for writing this song and recording it for us to include in celebrating my parents life together. Did I mention. Momma was 16 and daddy was 19 when they married.
