Alan was always in exciting fights, he was undisputed MW Champion of the world and next to the HW title that’s as good as it gets!, British, European, World and Bronze Medalist what a career!, 🥊

He wouldnt have became champion had vito given hagler a rematch after the BS draw in 79! Because hagler would have mopped the floor with vito in a rematch....minter wouldnt have beat hagler on his best day....and that was proven when hagler annihilated him....i respect minter...but facts are facts!

@@dreman1970 very true.. Minter was very lucky to be around when the middleweight division title was held by a useless boxer in antuofermo, he was very tough and very brave but no boxing skill at all. a good few of vito's fights were definitely controlled by the mob fights.. and also bent refs. . But minter did get the mw title and that was as high as you can go, but Have to agree Hagler would beat minter every day of the week. Hagler was the very best from 1970 onward. i think hagler and nigel benn would of been a good tear up, and Hagler or Benn would of smashed calzaghi to bits. hagler must be in the top 3 middle weights of all time. he even looked the best just holding up the belt.
Prime time here in his backyard Minter just cleaned up on Vito Minter was a good proud champion 🏆

Notice at 21:11 at the end of the round, Antuofermo reaches out and taps Minter. I have watched thousands of fights and studied body language. This is a submissive gesture, basically saying "I acknowledge that you are the King." The same when a boxer is hurt by a punch and smiles. Boxer's if you are reading this, do not do it.

Just about punch perfect from Alan Minter. He boxed Antuofermo's ears off that night to retain the title. If he'd adopted the same strategy against Marvin Hagler just three months later, things might have been different.
