Have you seen the chicken leg quarters and thigh bags at some stores? We have a Foodlion around my area and these 10 pound bags were on sale for 79 cents a pound. If you learn to divide the legs from the thighs (hint, there is a line of fat at the joint that if you cut right on the edge of, your knife will cut through that joint like butter), you can get thighs and legs for really cheap. Walmart carries these bags too. If you learn how to de-bone the thighs, then you have boneless (possibly skinless) chicken thighs. If you already know all this, then I guess these are just tips for others struggling 😊

Yes I've used those in the past. Don't forget to make bone broth with the bones too. Thank you for commenting this! Hopefully others will see this. So much of saving money and making the most of the ingredients you have is associated with learning how to break things down and prepare them. Always feel free to share any tips you'd like here, they are appreciated 🥰

I think we are going to do a bit of a pantry challenge also. But fresh stuff might have to still be bought. We have a baby due here in three months. My youngest child now is 16 years old! So we are starting all over. Now that Christmas is over, all of my smqll check needs to be going to getting the last baby stuff we need. My husband makes the majority of our money away from home but his checks are mostly for bills and animal feed. Mine generally goes towards food and household needs. We don't need a whole lot more for baby...a bassinet and reusable diapers is the most pressing issues. Therefore, if I can save in groceries, I can get these last few things purchased and we'll be all ready.

Oh yay! Congratulations, my daughter was 17 when I became pregnant with my son. I didn't have any baby items so we had to start from scratch again too. That was 7 years ago. I'm wishing you all the luck with the rest of your pregnancy and delivery. ❤🙏🙏🙏
