When I was a pharmacy tech, I was the last person to handle the script after the pharmacist. I checked it before getting it ready for pick up. Then checked it again when the client came in. I did find a couple mistakes over the years, but they were rare. I think Baldwin should have checked it. But its sad when you can't trust the armorers.

Sorry I missed the live Vinnie. You made some great points and things to think about. Thank you for letting us know what time of day you'll be going live to discuss the trial. As a filmmaker who oversees the Propmaster & the Armorer (both positions fall within my department) safety of ALL is my top priority. No movie is worth a persons life. Alec Baldwin should not get exemption just because he's an actor. Actors get too many "exemptions" as it is. There are NO industry set standards for this type of thing to be prevented. IMO every single 1st AD in the DGA, Actor in SAG-AFTRA, and Armorer should be REQUIRED to take a gun safety training and renew that training every 2 years just like you have to do with CPR certifications. If you don't have this required training, you can not be hired to fill the role.

Hello Vinnie and Company; I trained recruits on Parris Island to understand and shoot 45 caliber pistols. Safety is priority with this training. The 45 pistol has 3 safties built in to it. I always tell anyone that wants to buy a gun for their safety is to buy a REVOLVER as it is safer than semi-auto pistol to learn on and have it in your house. Let's say Balwin or anyone was at a firing range with an instructor (inside or outside) and he was told to fire on the target. If something went wrong i.e. a person was shot downrange, I would not expect him to be liable, as it was likely not his fault. Whether he loaded the gun or not in that instance, he would not be liable for the action. Now take the situation away from the CONTROLLED SITUATION of firing at a gun range to the situation at hand. Baldwin is responsible for ALL ACTIONS wrt SUPPLYING; LOADING; TESTING; AIMING and DISCHARGING the gun. Shooting blank cartridges can actually KILL a person in close proximity. IMO and I'm not a lawyer, I think Balwins SUPEREGO took over and he wanted to let everone know he was the BOSS.

As far as I’m concerned every single weapon and round should have been under strict lock and key just as if they were real guns and live rounds. The “prop” rounds should be a differant color at the very least. I also believe someone holding a real gun should have the same responsibility as any other person with a gun. ‘accountability’ not negligence. Accountability is a political science concept not where ethics s has several what the prosecution was rightfully shut down from presenting as evidence is the corporate world, ‘accountability’ that is extended to and includes the company's shareholders, employees, and the widening community in which outside resources operates with different accountability regulations. For example, ethics and ethical behavior are not universal; what is morally ethical to provide and legally contracted to do is fluid when and where safety is tangible but not predictable. Trying to paint an orange red and call it an apple isn’t any more successful than painting an apple orange and labeling it as one. Accountability acceptance are entertained but responsibility, which is a level definition, are used synonymously when they should defined separately

Further, no actor in history has removed or count a live bullet in a gun. This is just a bunch of trash prosecutors and how they handled this entire case was awful. This is an easy not guilty. Even if he is found guilty he won't serve anytime. It will be probation and suspended sentence. He has and will continue to pay civil suits- as he should - because this is a civil case. There was negligence on that movie set. And he had the gun in his hand. How ever, he thought he had a dead gun. Like it or not that’s what he thought. Up to the minute of this tragedy, that appears be how it’s done on set. So all the talk about his reckless behavior, his arrogance and all that seems irrelevant since he didn’t believe it’s loaded. The 2 already charged were responsible. The court ruled they can’t bring in the producer angle so there you have it. Without the producer angle you just have an actor trusting the safety people. Find the live round provider and charge that person. Civil court maybe but criminal based on his behavior, no.
